Hello All,
Wow, we are almost finished with the 2021-22 school year! No matter what your role is, you have accomplished so much this year! Many of you are headed to a well-deserved summer break, others to the AP Reading, and still others to various activities and learning over the summer months. Whatever you have planned, I hope that you take time for the things that fill you with rest, contentment, and some creativity mixed in!
We have a lot going on for you this summer. The FAEA Summer Workshops are something you will want to check out. There is something for everyone. See below for the basics and our website for detailed information:

We are working to provide opportunities for you to learn and grow while also working on the state and national levels to move art education forward. We're always striving to improve how we support you. The FAEA Board met on May 21st to work on these initiatives. Some of the topics from the meeting were Conference Planning, the creation of a Strategic Plan, Bylaws Task Force groups to work on keeping the organization vibrant, legislative updates, and FAEA leadership's work as Delegates of the National Arts Education Association (NAEA).
This summer, I will be attending the NAEA Leadership Meeting with Latonya Hicks, our President-Elect. This is an important opportunity to meet with other state arts organizations from around the country, hear about what they are doing, and learn from each other. We will also be a part of the NAEA Delegates meeting, where we take part in guiding the policy of the NAEA and also work on national concerns and initiatives of the arts education community. I can’t wait to share the outcomes of the meeting with you in the fall.
I also want to remind you that the Member Virtual Exhibition’s “Call for Art” is open until August 31st. Please submit your artwork to this very special exhibition! We want to celebrate our members’ artwork and will present awards for this exhibition at our Annual Conference in October at the Member Virtual Exhibition Reception!
Take care and have a great summer!
Nancy G. Puri
FAEA President
