Dear Parents,

Wow!  I don’t know about you, but I cannot believe that May is here! There is so much going on at school.  This week we had the May Crowning mass where we crowned Mary with roses.  Next week our theatre department will be putting on Shrek, the Musical.  One of the beautiful things about our school is that our students have the ability to try so many different things - clubs, theatre, music, and sports.  I encourage you to come out next Friday or Saturday night to see our students in this production - 7pm at Marian University’s Theatre both evenings.

We have also been celebrating our seniors at their respective sport’s senior nights.  This week we highlighted our track team, boys volleyball, and girls tennis teams.  Next Wednesday we will honor both our baseball and softball teams.

If you are a parent of a senior, consider purchasing an advertisement for the yearbook congratulating your senior (maybe even with cute baby picture and a senior picture).  The cost of those is $25.  All ads are a quarter page.  If you are interested, please send your information to devans@cardinalritter.org asap, so you can reserve your spot.

Please continue to pray for our school community as we pray for you and your family.

In Christ’s Peace,

Kari Jost, Principal

Soaring to Success: Honoring Alicyn Williams, LIFT Academy's First Cape Air Graduate

Alicyn Williams is making history as the first LIFT Academy alumna to graduate from Cape Air and move on to Republic Airways, a significant milestone in her journey as an airline pilot. LIFT Academy offers two pathways for aspiring aviators to begin their commercial airline careers: the first involves partnering with Cape Air to gain valuable pilot-in-command experience, while the second allows them to serve as Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) at LIFT Academy. Soon, LIFT will offer a third pathway for students to accumulate hours and anticipates its launch in late 2024. Graduates like Alicyn build flight time and earn compensation as First Officers and then as Captains for Cape Air before advancing to Republic Airways. As Alicyn embarks on the next chapter of her career, she reflects on her remarkable journey.

A DePauw Summer Experience

DePauw University's Gateway to Gold Summer Experience offers motivated, curious high school students a variety of two-day, one-night pre-college programs throughout June and July.

Students will discover new interests and create lasting friendships in their choice of college-level classes taught by DePauw's own faculty — from Wild Style: Hip Hop Aesthetics to Crafting & Marketing Your Startup to Equity & Inclusion in Sports.

Not only will students gain knowledge and skills to help them succeed in college, but they will also get a taste of campus life when they stay overnight in the dorms, eat in our dining hall and get to know peers from a wide variety of backgrounds and places.

Tuition for each program is $270, or $20 for families earning less than $175,000 annually.
