Summer Property Owner Tips
The summer season is just around the corner, which means more activities outdoors. That also means an opportunity to do more projects around your home. Here is some helpful guidance from our Code Compliance team to help you out:

OAK PRUNING:
Oak pruning may commence on July 1. If it's difficult to remember, you can follow the saying, "Never Prune February Through June." When pruning oak trees, immediately treat all cuts with pruning seal.

GARAGE SALES:
Summer is often a great time to shed our homes of all those goodies collected during spring cleaning. Garage and estate sales are allowed in Lakeway as long as the items for sale are wholly contained inside of your home or garage. Signage related to garage or estate sales however is NOT allowed. You can use social media, local media or word-of-mouth for advertising.

WASTE CONTAINERS:
Warm nights tend to bring out more wildlife like racoons, opossums or foxes. A heavy item on top of your outdoor garbage container is a way to avoid having critters spread household waste across your property. Please keep in mind that waste containers are allowed to be placed curbside the evening before your scheduled pick-up day, but needs to be returned to their screened location the evening of the scheduled pick-up day.

DRIVEWAY WATERCRAFT PARKING:
With the lake filling up as the heat continues to rise, boaters are enjoying more time on the water with their family and friends. A friendly reminder that watercraft vehicles are allowed parked in the driveway of your residence for no more than two (2) days out of any seven (7) day period for the specific purpose of loading and unloading.
