Here are the tentative dates for loading wares for our April gas kiln firings:

As usual, we will load and fire on these dates in April when we have accumulated enough pieces to fill the kiln. Be sure to check with the studio for April gas kiln firing updates.

Clearing the decks
Our bisque shelves and our glaze shelves are crowded and need to be cleared of work fired in March by Friday, April 30. Regrettably, any unclaimed bisque ware and glazed pieces remaining after that date must be discarded to make room for new work. (And you know we hate doing that!)

Ever wish you could use those MKM hand texture rollers on your wheel-thrown pottery? Potter Hsin-Chuen Lin has come up with a clever way to turn a wire clothes hanger into a homemade roller handle. He shows how to make the handle, then how to use the roller to decorate wheel-thrown pottery.

20 cubic-foot outdoor gas kiln for sale. 28 x 28 x 48 loading capacity. Non-electric kiln with Venturi burners. Built by Tom Phardel. It fires beautifully, producing great shino results with carbon trapping and copper reds. We are moving and can't take it with us.
The kiln is held together with a steel frame and must be dismantled and rebuilt in its new location. You will need to supply a cement slab for the kiln, an overhang for weather protection, and a chimney. Some of the required gas piping is included with the kiln This is a superb kiln for a do-it-yourselfer.

- Saturday, Noon-6:00 pm
Please be aware that we will continue to adjust our open studio hours as additional classes on our schedule start and activity restrictions are lifted. As is customary, only registered students will be admitted to the studio during class times.
We limit our indoor capacity to 13 students at the pottery wheels, 2 students in the glazing room, and 2 students at the large work table. We will continue to observe all our health and safety precautions during open studio time.
Please remember to sign in when you arrive and sign out when you leave. And make sure to clean your work area thoroughly before leaving.
We also have curbside delivery of clay, tools, and pottery during our regular hours. If you have a specific need, please call Kay at the studio, during regular hours, at 734-662-4914.
