Eight stellar grant & award finalists will receive $420,000
We are blown away by the creative ways Impact100's eight finalist organizations are addressing pressing needs in the Philadelphia region. Our eight finalists represent many different constituencies and showcase why nonprofit organizations are the lifeblood of our region.
Core Mission Finalists

CCATE's mission is to ignite social transformation for the Latinx community in Norristown through a broad array of educational, cultural, work training, and health programs. Also in Norristown, Theatre Horizon uses the transformative power of storytelling to create an inclusive space for artists, audiences and students, revitalizing activity and life for its racially diverse neighbors.

AFAHO serves the African and Caribbean immigrant and refugee communities in Philadelphia — who often have difficulty accessing health and social services — by offering essential health care services focused on reproductive health and chronic disease management. ACHIEVEability helps low-income, single parent, and homeless families in Philadelphia become self-reliant through a full range of services addressing education, employment, housing, and family supports. C.B. Community Schools, a small healing-centered high school in Roxborough, provides regular and special education services for students who are currently or were formerly involved in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems.
Community Awards Finalists

In West and Southwest Philadelphia, YEAH Philly takes its lead from teens and young adults who help plan and run programs focused on addressing the root causes of violence as well as food insecurity and other challenges. Sisters Returning Home works with women in Philadelphia coming home after serving time in prison, and provides mentoring, training, and other supports to reduce the stress of the transition back home. In the City of Chester, the Chester Community Coalition seeks to promote healing, peace, and safety for those experiencing the psychological and emotional trauma of homicides and intentional violence.

Site visits to 28 organizations

As part of their detailed proposal review and evaluation, our five Focus Area Committees conducted virtual site visits with 28 Core Mission applicants. These 28 organizations were selected from an initial pool of more than 200 Letters of Inquiry. Our members got to know more about their work and had the chance to hear directly from their staffs. Over the years, it's been common for Impact100 members to become financial supporters, volunteers, board members, and even staff of organizations they learn about through FAC site visits.

We'd like to recognize and thank the 28 outstanding organizations who welcomed us at virtual site visits this year:

Our Annual Meeting: Monday, June 7 at 7 pm
We'd love to have you join Impact100 Philadelphia's members, finalists, nonprofit colleagues and friends on Monday, June 7 at 7 pm.

Our Annual Meeting will be a joyous celebration of our 2021 Core Mission and Operating grantees and Community Awards recipients — recognizing and honoring their vital work, compassion, and innovative approaches to our region's challenges.
The Annual Meeting marks the end of one grantmaking year and the beginning of the next. Many members have a tradition of renewing their membership at this time of year, showing their support for the Philadelphia region and recommitting to our collective model of women pooling our funds to make a difference.

This is also the perfect time to spread the word to others. The 2021 finalists make a compelling case for why funds are needed and how our grants can support people across the entire region. We welcome all women who are interested and hope you will become a member for the 2022 grant year!
"Why I'm a Member"
Thanks to first-year member Sally Groverman, who recently shared these thoughts about her membership.

A new member:
"I never imagined myself connected to the world of philanthropy"

I am very happy to be part of Impact. I am incredibly impressed by the abundance of talent, experience, determination, generosity, and skills of the members.

It has been a worthwhile learning experience for me. I have worked for nonprofits for my entire career, always on the clinical side. It is a valuable experience seeing the challenges from another perspective.

Thank you for reaching out to me last year. I never actually imagined myself connected to the world of philanthropy!

Would you like to join us or tell others about Impact100?

If you'd like to tell others about our organization, please feel free to forward
this newsletter — and we thank you for spreading the word. The top reason for Impact100's growth since 2008 has been members referring other women as members.
Women ages 36 and over join for $1,150; of that total, $1,000 is added to the grants pool for 2021 and the balance supports our operating expenses. Women 35 and under join as Young Philanthropists at half that rate, $575, with $500 going to the grants pool.

Members joining now will help fund the 2022 grants. The deadline to join is November 15.
We welcome anyone — whether a member or not — to contribute to Impact100 Philadelphia's 2022 grant funding and to leverage a personal donation into large grants that will benefit nonprofits in the region.

Only members may cast a vote for grantees, but everyone is welcome to add to the funds that will support Impact100's 2022 grant recipients.
