We have already served 1,000 unduplicated families this year, a milestone we did not hit until August of last year. We know that 2024 will break all previous records. We have had 5,738 visits to our pantry, which is almost as many as we had through all of 2020.

In the month of April, we provided 38,722 meals worth of food to our customers and their families. Having enough food is always a challenge. A huge thank you to Sally Booth, Carol Crane, and Sarah Adams for organizing another food drive at the Quogue Post Office. Mayor Robert Treuhold comes every time with a carload of food, as do many community members -- with food, checks, etc. Your continued support is so much appreciated!

On Saturday May 11th be prepared to donate non-perishable food items when letter carriers across the country head out on their routes to collect donations as they deliver the mail. The National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive. We are so lucky that our local letter carriers partner with Island Harvest and Heart of the Hamptons to ensure that the food collected goes right back out into our community. Simply leave your donation of non-perishable food in a bag near your mailbox on Saturday, May 11th, and your letter carrier will do the rest.

Make a donation to help us ensure no one in our community goes hungry!

HELP FEED SOMEONE TODAY

Looking for another way to get involved? Consider joining the Flour Power bread baking program for us to share.

Our Assistance Program serves local children, adults, and families with a wide range of support. Any support we provide is funded exclusively through charitable donations. A huge thank you to the Southampton Bath and Tennis Charitable Fund and all of our donors who make our assistance program possible!

Here are a few expenses we covered this month that demonstrate the impact this program makes on people's lives:

  • Paid a security deposit so a single mom could move into a new apartment to be able to have her daughter living with her again.
  • Arranged for medical rides for seniors
  • Paid a PSEG and fuel oil bill for food pantry clients that have been out of work because both the mom and dad have been sick.
  • Paid rent for a woman whose son is battling cancer
  • Purchased an infant car seat for a client having a baby this month
  • Paid rent for a high school student so he could focus on finishing school instead of missing school to work
  • Arranged a lawn clean-up for a senior

We are able to be a crucial safety net thanks to donors like you.

HELP SOMEONE IN NEED

Want to do more to help? Sign up here to organize a diaper drive to help us provide diapers every week to our customers.

We've opened a satellite distribution at the Stony Brook Southampton Campus every Friday from 10 a.m. to noon in the university’s parking lot near the Fine Arts building.

We are so grateful especially to Stony Brook Southampton’s conferences and events coordinator, Laura Lyons, who spearheaded this initiative and Vice President for Strategic Initiatives Wendy Pearson for welcoming us to the campus.

With many of our clients residing in Shinnecock Hills, Hampton Bays and Flanders, adding a pickup location on the college campus will be a great addition to our program. The location allows us to serve many of our clients close to their homes, illustrating our mission to provide the best services in the most thoughtful ways.

Want to do more to help us have enough food? Sign Up if you are willing to pick up food from a local retailer that wants to donate to us.

DONATE TODAY

1. What is the best way to help?

Monetary donations directly help us to feed our neighbors in need. Donate here!

2. Are you accepting food or clothing donations?

We are almost ready to move to our new location at 44 Meetinghouse Lane. Please reach out to us to see when we are ready to receive donations again.

3. Do you need volunteers?

Yes! Please sign up on our website here

4. How does one register for the food pantry?

One can register ahead by calling our office (631-283-6415) to speak with our bilingual staff. New customers are welcome to visit during food pantry hours- Wednesdays and Fridays from 10AM-12PM. Upon arrival, they will be asked to fill out a registration form and provide valid identification. This form is used solely for reporting numbers to the food bank, so we receive enough food to feed our customers.

Our mission is simple - to help people in our local community who are in need with dignity and without discrimination. For the past 44 years, we've been able to do that together. We thank you!

Warmest regards,
