We hope you are enjoying being back on campus and that your semester is off to a smooth start.

You may now access the Housing Application for the 2023-24 Academic Year at go.wfu.edu/housingportal.

In general, this process will include:

• A review/update of the following: your information, contacts - including your emergency contact, missing person contact, and parent/guardian - as well as your information privacy preferences.
• For those eligible, you’ll be asked to express your intent to live on or off campus. For rising juniors under the residency requirement, you’ll be able to enter the off-campus lottery. 
• A chance to answer roommate matching questions and allergen information which can be used in searching for possible roommates.
• A review of any current disability-related housing accommodations or begin the request for a new accommodation. 

Once you complete your application, you may begin forming your roommate groups and talking about where you would like to live. As a reminder, group size must match the number of beds in the space you're trying to select.

We anticipate opening roommate groups on January 30 and will send further messaging at that time. In the interim, please review the resources available on our housing selection webpage.

IMPORTANT DATES

January 2023 

• Details will be released regarding the Residential Engagement Community (REC) and Student Organization block processes
• January 16 - the 2023-24 Housing Application opens, including Off-Campus Lottery and Senior Intent (i.e., rising seniors indicate where they wish to live - on campus or off)

February 2023 

• February 6
• REC applications and block requests are due (groups will receive follow-up as needed)
• Deadline for entering Off-Campus Lottery; outcomes will be communicated by Feb. 28
• Deadline for rising seniors to express interest in living on-campus 
• February 10
• Deadline for disability-related accommodation requests and supporting documentation

March 2023

• March 6 - Block Rosters (Greek, Athletic, REC) Due
• March 13-17 -
• Appointments will take place for students with Disability-Related Accommodations
• Students living in RECs or Blocks complete their housing/meal plan via the Housing Portal 
• RAs and students being pulled in by an RA complete their housing/meal plan the via Housing Portal 
• March 20-23 - Housing Selection

FAQs

Q: How are selection times determined?

A: Students are given credit for each semester they live on campus. Study abroad and transfer housing (upon submission of proof of residency) are included; summer sessions and semesters away from the University are not included. Based on the number of semesters in housing a student has, they are randomly assigned times for housing selection. Other factors such as GPA, etc. do not influence selection times.

Q: I'll be a senior and I want to live off campus?

A: Students who are eligible to live off campus, will arrive at a housing intent page and can then choose to select on or off campus. If selecting off-campus they will be directed into a process for address registration, etc.

Q: If I've previously been released from the residency requirement, do I need to go through the lottery again?

A: No, if you've been released from the University's residency requirement you will not be expected to participate in housing selection. You will however need to complete our off campus registration process.
