Principal's Message
Dear Hutton Elementary Community,
With the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) testing for grades 3 through 5 starting next week, I wanted to share some tips to ensure our students are well-prepared and confident. First, it’s important that each student gets consistent, restful sleep and a healthy breakfast each morning. Arriving a little early can help settle nerves and start the day calmly. Finally, a bit of encouragement goes a long way in boosting their confidence—remind your child that these tests are just one way to show what they've learned.
This week, we also celebrated Earth Week, a wonderful initiative led by Mrs. McFarland, who inspired our students to honor and take care of our planet. Each classroom participated in various challenges aimed at teaching our students to reduce, reuse, and recycle more effectively. A big thank you to Mrs. McFarland for her enthusiasm and commitment to environmental education!
Finally, this week was Administrative Professionals Appreciation Week. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Wiechman, Mrs. Ahlquist, and Mrs. Algeo for their unwavering support and dedication to our school. Their efforts ensure that Hutton Elementary runs smoothly each and every day, and they truly make a difference in our community.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to our school community.
Warm regards,
LaTonya Simmons
