Glenna Phelps-Aurich, Executive Director of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce (center) presented the Business of the Week honor to North Sterling Boat Charter & Rental and owner Jim Durbin (left). Joining the presentation were Patti and Jim Fix of PJ Marina.
….Jeff Durbin purchased a pontoon in memory of his mother in 2018. He was asked many of times if he would rent it out. After a lot of thinking Jeff decided to open his own business renting boats and other fun water toys for families and friends to have fun!
…This business would also give him something to do during his retirement which only lasted one year. In 2019, North Sterling Boat Charter & Rental was born.
…In the beginning there were a few employees, all family, working for Jeff and as the years went on, he’s hired more employees that are just as much as family as the others.
…Over the past four years they have accommodated three pontoon boats, a speed boat, lots of kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, paddle boats, and fishing boats. Every Saturday they offer a Sunset Cruise around the lake that’s BYOB with a snack tray provided by them!
…If you’re looking for a fun time this summer come out to North Sterling Boat Charter & Rental to spend time out on the lake! They are located in between the State Park Visitor Center and PJ Marina and are open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and during the weekdays by reservation only.
