Here are some wonderful handmade cards from one of our student volunteers, Louis! Letters Against Isolation loves helping students get involved with their communities and get their service hours.

Happy Sunday, Shreya!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. We had a landmark cycle - together we as a volunteer base wrote over 10,000 letters! This brings our grand total up to 350,000 letters and cards written. What an exciting milestone! If we lay each envelope it would take to mail all these letters end to end, they would be 65 miles long! I cannot believe that in less than 2 years, we've been able to reach so many people. Thank you so much for writing and for being a part of this incredible community!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

This week on the blog...

I am sharing a very special interview with one of the seniors we serve! I had the pleasure of interviewing David, one of the residents of Dulwich Mead over in the UK. He told me about all of the letters and cards he's been receiving from around the world! He even told me about Jahanie, his pen pal from Singapore, who he found through LAI!

I really do hope you take a few minutes to watch the video and see how much your letters and cards are impacting seniors, like David!

In the News...

As we mentioned in last weekend's newsletter, LAI has created six public art murals around MA and RI where you can go out and write a postcard to a senior!

In just a week since opening, we've had hundreds of postcards collected at each of the sites. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to support us!

This week, the murals were in the news! I headed over to the instillation in Boston's seaport district to do an interview with CBS News.

Have fun writing,

Shreya and Saffron
