Lockdown/Intruder Drill
Lockdown/Intruder Drill

Notre Dame of De Pere continues to make school safety a priority. We implement safety drills on a regular basis, which include fire, tornado, AED, lockdown and evacuation. Our buildings are equipped with safe entrances, built-in lock-down features, and security cameras throughout. In light of unfortunate events that have happened throughout the world and in partnership with the De Pere Police Department, we have adopted a school safety plan that provides students and staff with options to stay safe, make informed choices, and save as many lives as possible. Our staff receives on-going training related to A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) strategies for active threat situations. To learn more about A.L.I.C.E., please visit the A.L.I.C.E. training website: www.alicetraining.com

Notre Dame of De Pere will hold a Lockdown/Intruder drill on Friday, November 12, 2021. To assist students with understanding A.L.I.C.E., we have planned the following activities in which students will participate:

  • PK4 through Grade 3 students will listen to and discuss the book I'm Not Scared, I'm Prepared! Because I know All About A.L.I.C.E. by Julie Cook
  • All classes will watch and discuss a video presentation that outlines the various stages of Lockdown and Options for an Intruder (A.L.I.C.E)
  • Sound the building-wide alert system so students are familiar with the alarm

Please know the intentions of featuring this drill is to educate, protect, and stimulate conversation among teachers and students. Your child/children will likely come home and share information with you as well. If you should have any questions or concerns prior to or following the drill, please contact Mrs. Mares.

Substitute Teachers
Subs Needed!

Notre Dame of De Pere (and all the GRACE schools) are in desperate need of additional substitute teachers. Could you help us out? We are willing to create a Notre Dame of De Pere only substitute list if you are only interested in subbing at our school or share your information on the general GRACE sub-list depending on your interest. You are also able to decide if you would like to be paid for your substitute services or use the hours towards your volunteer requirements. We are also willing to work with you to place subs in classrooms with age ranges that they feel most comfortable. Please reach out to Molly Mares to learn more!

Bake Sales
ND 8th grade Girl Scouts
Nov. 13-14
Nov. 27-28
There will be a bake sale on November 13 and 14 at Saint Xavier Parish, and 27 and 28 at Saint Mary Parish. All the profits from the bake sale are going towards the Notre Dame 8th Girl Scout Troop’s Silver Award Project. They are in the process of creating a Calming Room for West De Pere Middle School. A Calming Room is a space kids can use to relax, de-escalate, or relieve stress. Please consider purchasing a baked good or donate by either of these dates at church or donate a baked good using the
Sign Up Genius below. We greatly appreciate any help.

Counselor's Corner
Counselor’s Corner
We are nearing the end of the first trimester here at school! Hope your families have had time to enjoy the beautiful fall colors. I just wanted to share some things that we are doing in my Guidance classes. This Saturday, November 13th, is World Kindness Day. World Kindness Day is an international holiday that was formed in 1998, to promote kindness throughout the world and is observed annually on November 13 as part of the World Kindness Movement. It is observed in many countries. In your child’s Prek-5 class, we will be talking about kindness either this week or next. Many classes are doing activities related to kindness. Ask your child about what they did in class. I would love to hear what acts of kindness they did next time I see them in Guidance. Here is the link to the below chart on ways to show kindness. You can print off and have your child color in the ones that they complete.
Christmas in the Commons
Even if your child isn't able to play on the above listed dates, please still send in their form if they would like to perform. We will combine them with another student in the morning so everyone who wishes to perform is able. Thank you! ~Mrs. Lindholm
Coffee & Donuts 1st weekend of the month
Coffee and Donuts 1st Weekend of the Month!

Coffee and donuts were so well-received in September that both church councils would like to see the effort continue! Join us the first weekend of November and December after all Masses at both churches for goodies and fellowship.

We need helpers of all ages to make these weekends a success. We need people to pour beverages and safely hand-serve goodies. Please visit the Sign-up Genius to volunteer with your spouse, neighbor or kids today!

Cathedral Singing January 9
Does your 6th-8th grade student enjoy singing? Would you like to hear them sing at the Diocese of Green Bay St. Francis Xavier Cathedral? 6th-8th grade students have the opportunity to lead the Church in song at the Cathedral on Sunday, January 9th at 9:00am. This Mass will be live streamed on the Cathedral’s website, aired on Relevant Radio, and presided over by Bishop David Ricken. This is a great opportunity for students to see what it’s like to rehearse with the Director of Music Ministry for the Cathedral, sing in the choir loft, and share their talents for so many people to hear!

Please sign your child up using the link below by Friday, December 10th so we have enough time to get music distributed and rehearse before and after Christmas Break.

Thanks for signing up! ~ Mrs. Lindholm
GRACE Calendar Raffle
The GRACE Calendar Raffle sale will continue through the middle of December. THANK YOU to those who've already sold their calendars!  Our goal is to surpass last year's sales, and we are currently just over halfway to our goal. Each $20 raffle ticket will give the recipient a chance to win over $10,000! If you are in need of additional calendars or have any questions, please contact KariJossart @ [email protected]
