WKU announces finalists for 2021 Distinguished Educator Awards
WKU today announced the 2021 finalists of the WKU College of Education and Behavioral Sciences’ Distinguished Educator Awards.
“While it’s hard to believe we’re rounding out a year of non-traditional instruction, our teachers have felt every shift and change that came with our new ‘normal’,” said Corinne Murphy, Dean of WKU’s College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. “Our teachers adapted and persevered through every roadblock and moment of uncertainty, showing that education, while considered very traditional in nature, is just as nimble and innovative as the other professional fields that made sharp pivots during the 2020 year. Our teachers incorporated these changes with grace, and we’re thrilled to honor them with some well-deserved recognition.”
Each award celebrates the individual and significant contributions educators make to the teaching profession. From elementary education to teacher mentorship, WKU recognized P-12 educator finalists based on their inspiring and specialized solutions in the classroom.

Celebrate WKU Day of Caring tomorrow
Tomorrow is the second WKU Day of Caring! For many Hilltoppers, their WKU Experience was made possible because of the support of the WKU Family. And support can mean many things—financial gifts that provided access and opportunity, a faculty or staff member who went above and beyond, an alumnus who encouraged them to apply and enroll, or friendships made on campus through a program or organization. The connections we’ve found at WKU are for a lifetime, and Day of Caring is an opportunity to celebrate those relationships. Join us for 24 hours of celebrating!

Since March 2020, the WKU community has adapted to many changes caused by COVID-19. As we note the passage of an unprecedented year and look forward to a new semester, we celebrate the successful work of students, faculty and staff to keep Hilltoppers learning and collaborating in online workspaces.
