Employment Survey
If you've not already done so, please take a moment to complete a brief employment survey created to assess the need for employees and to learn the magnitude of the challenges that you are facing finding people to fill positions. This survey should take less than five minutes. We hope that you take the time to complete it before July 1 so that we can compile the results and share what we have learned with our legislators. Results will also be shared with the PA Chamber of Business and Industry and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as we work together to strengthen the workforce. An article based on the results will be in a future enews, so that you are aware of the results also.
When responding to the questions, please also share how we can help you promote the opportunities that you have available. If you don’t have your login information so that you can login to the member section of huntingdonchamber.com to post jobs, please let me know and we will get the information to you. You may also email the job information to me at [email protected] and we will post it for you and share it on the Huntingdon, PA – Promotions & Activities Facebook page. Use the following link to complete the survey.

A Special Thanks to Our Golf Sponsors!
On Wednesday June 9 we held our Annual HCCC & Bonney Forge Corp Golf Tournament at the Huntingdon Country Club. Due to the weather, we sadly didn't get any pictures before the thunderstorm. The rain caused the greens to become too wet and we had to call it.
We are so thankful to the Country Club for all of their hard work and our golfers who stuck it out with us when plans changed.
This event wouldn't be possible without our great sponsors! They are:
Title Sponsor - Bonney Forge Corporation
Skill Prize Sponsor - Allegheny Tool Supply
Hole-in-One Prize Sponsor - Pat Mooney Saws

Consider This When Budgeting
The Fair Labor Standards Act regulations update that took effect on Jan. 1, 2020, raised the federal overtime salary threshold to $35,568. While Pennsylvania’s overtime rule aligns more closely with the FLSA, Labor and Industry has set the minimum salary threshold at $45,500, and the increase will be phased in three steps:
- $684 per week, $35,568 annually (per federal rule), on Jan. 1, 2020;
- $780 per week, $40,560 annually on Oct. 3, 2021; and
- $875 per week, $45,500 annually on Oct. 3, 2022.
Starting in 2023, the salary threshold will adjust automatically every three years. See the flyer later in this newsletter for more information.
