God, who is rich in mercy”
– Ephesians 2:4
Dear Saint Mary’s Friends,

This Sunday, the first after Easter, is Divine Mercy Sunday. As you will see below, we will be having a Holy Hour at 3:00 P.M. within which we will pray the Chaplet. Registration is necessary for this service.

In keeping with the Feast, here are two videos: the first is the story of Maureen Digan, a Massachusetts woman who was the approved healing for then Sr. Faustina’s beatification- watch here. The second is a brief documentary on the origins of the Feast, watch here.
Also, a wonderful documentary on the rediscovery of the lost original image, ”The Original Image of Divine Mercy”, can be rented here and the DVD can be purchased at Amazon. You can watch the trailer here.

What Jesus said to Faustina about the Image and Feast
Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus, I trust in You. I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over [its] enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory (Diary, 47, 48). I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy.
The two rays denote Blood and Water. The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the depths of My tender mercy when My agonized Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. Happy is the one who will dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him (299). By means of this image I shall grant many graces to souls. It is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy, because even the strongest faith is of no avail without works. (742)
I want the image solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter, and I want it to be venerated publicly so that every soul may know about it. (Diary, No.  341)

Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life on this day will be granted complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. (Diary, No. 300)

Peace, Health and Blessings,
Monsignor Royal
