Dear Parents,
This week went by so very fast. Our classes are gearing up for some great activities next week.
Monday is the 100th day of school. Our VPK and K-1 classes have so much counting fun to look forward to. I will report on the activities next week and am sure you will see lots of photos. Thank you to the families who signed up to bring an items for the 100 Day Trail mix. If you did not bring it on Friday, we can still accept it on Monday.
On Monday you will see the sign up sheet for our annual Friendship Fruit Salad. This is a time where friends get together and share a fruit salad parfait. Those who wish to sign up are asked to do so next week and send in the items on Valentines Day. Please also be on the lookout for cute Valentines for your child to exchange with their classmates. The only rule is no candy and please simply place your child's name on the Valentines they are sending. Your teacher will let you know how many students are in their class in their weekly letter.
This week I have the opportunity to do Science Lab with our VPK kids. I was so impressed with how much they knew about shadows. We further explored light and shadow and used mirrors to make a reflection of shape pieces. The children placed the pieces in front of a mirror to see several shapes reflected in the mirror. They made beautiful kaleidoscope designs.
If you have not already turned in your sign permission form for the Colgate Bright Smiles Education Bus, please do so prior to 2/14. Blank copies in English and Spanish are outside the front door.
Parents in VPK and K/1 please be on the lookout for the final supply fee. It will be billed to all account on Monday. Families on auto debit will see the transaction Monday or Tuesday for $170. Those not on auto pay are asked to send it in when you get the invoice.
Finally, I had the great honor on Thursday of being interviewed for the Childcare Rockstar Radio Podcast. It was a real thrill that I will always remember. In the podcast I mentioned that the secret to our success at Kids For Kids Academy is our AMAZING staff who create wonderful learning opportunities for your child each and every day. Their love for what they do instills a love of learning in all of our students. I am eternally grateful for each and every one of them!
