Congratulations Class of 2022!
Discovery High School was the first of our four high school graduation ceremonies. In her opening remarks, Principal Laurelle Mathison told the graduates, "We are all honored to be written in a small part of your story." Shortly after her address, the graduating class was greeted by their classmates with the highest grade point averages. Jalen M. Toliver, the Salutatorian, told graduates, "There is nothing that can stop you from achieving what you want." Juliana A. Vongphachanh, the Valedictorian, shared, "You taught me confidence, and for that, Thank you!" Congratulations to all of our students graduating today from Leroy Greene Academy, Natomas High School, and Inderkum High School.

NUSD Board Approves 3-Year Contract with CSEA #745

The Natomas Unified School District Board of Education approved a 3-year Contract Agreement with CSEA #745, our labor partner that represents the district’s classified employees, during a Special Board meeting held on Wednesday. The 3-Year Contract Agreement includes an 11% ongoing raise over the next three years, with 10% coming in the next two years. It also includes 5% on one-time money in 2022-23, and 2% more in 2023-2024, to help address inflation. There was also an increase in Natomas Unified’s contribution to each employee's health/welfare benefits of $90/month, as well as a recognition of longevity, and an agreement to increase professional growth. While there are other areas in the agreement to celebrate, we just wanted to highlight a few that reflect our strong collaboration. Click here for more details.

Graduating Seniors bid farewell but not before visiting their old stomping grounds

One of the highlights of our graduating seniors is taking the senior walk to their former elementary schools. We were able to capture some special moments of the senior walk when Leroy Greene Academy visited Two Rivers Elementary School and Natomas High School graduates visited Jefferson school after also attending American Lakes and Bannon Creek.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Natomas Middle demonstrating DEI

One of the Core Values of Natomas Unified is “We value diversity, equity, and inclusion.” Some students at Natomas Middle School demonstrated that by acknowledging June as Pride month and educating the community on LGBTQIA+ issues and how teachers can be more supportive of them in their classrooms. Great job students and Ms. Harvey, their advisor, for putting action into our Core Value.
