Notes from Ghana: In a Black Woman’s Voice

Wednesday, February 8, 4:30 - 6:00 pm, online via Zoom, Register in Advance

CRC Professor of Human Services Brandy Jones-Thomas will share stories and photos from her experiences attending the All African Diaspora Education Summit in Ghana, West Africa in Fall 2022. The discussion will be centered on “Black experiences” and will cover topics related to enslavement, historical trauma, and African culture. All are welcome to attend.

 

Black Love Cinema & Relationship Seminar

February 13-16 from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. in the UNITE Center

Celebrate Black Love with BSSC! Join the discussion about love in today’s generation while watching some of our favorite movies.

Black Wall Street with De’Von Truvel 

Tuesday, February 28 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. in the UNITE Center

Join us for a fun hour of games in the Black Student Success Center with special guest De’Von Truvel. De'Von Truvel created Black Wall Street the Board Game in 2017 as a tool to increase financial literacy and awareness of Tulsa's Black Wall Street. He is an engaged Educator, Published Author, and proud Nerd ready to make learning about wealth building fun!

LRC Tutorial Center


In-person and online tutoring is up and running at the LRC Tutorial Center. Tutoring services are free to any ARC-enrolled student. The LRC Tutorial Center provides individual appointments, drop-in, and online tutoring for students who need academic assistance outside the classroom. Check our tutors’ availability by subject and make your appointment today!

We are living in a time when many people are experiencing social anxiety; this is normal, and we are here to provide you with practical tips on how to reach out to others and then foster nurturing relationships. Join our Mental Health & Wellness Services therapists virtually in a supportive space to explore building and navigating healthy intimate/romantic relationships as well as tips for building supportive social and career/academic networks. American River College's Beaver Cares Basic Needs Center offers currently enrolled ARC students free fruits and vegetables certain Wednesdays throughout the semester to assist those facing food insecurity.
