The Greater Philadelphia Tech Competition was held at the Automotive Training Center in Warminster on Friday. Brandon Ritter and William Papa represented DCTS against twelve technical schools who competed for prizes and scholarships. This year, Garnet Ford sponsored Delaware County Technical Schools. William Papa won the Automotive Essay Contest! During the hands-on portion, our students performed a Multi-Point Inspection of a previously-bugged vehicle and tested their knowledge at 10 workstations ranging from engine mechanical to communication skills. All students who attended the competition received scholarships and additional prizes of tools and gift cards.
33 students were inducted into National Technical Honor Society and 5 students received second year pins. Congratulations to these students and their hard work! All pictures have been posted to the DCTS Facebook account from this event!

Our Cosmetology classes at the Folcroft Campus traveled to NYC for the International Beauty Show! They were able to see demonstrations, test new products, and learn new techniques.
The Emergency and Protective Services program at the Folcroft Campus was recently highlighted in a video by Heroes Next Door. Their goal is to raise awareness to the emergency medical services, police, firefighters, and healthcare services across the Country. They wrote this in the video description: “This is one of the coolest high schools in America. This program is built for prospective Firefighters, EMTs, and Police students to get hands-on training in each field. Delaware County Technical School has an Emergency and Protective Services program that is one of a kind! They have a full fire station, smoke building, ambulance, police simulator, and much more! If you are interested in this program please check out their Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/DCTSEPS.
Sam Keister and Andrew Matus are featured in this month’s issue of Garnet Valley Living. Sam graduated from Garnet Valley High School in June, 2021 and also completed Delaware County Technical School’s Automotive Technology program at the same time. Sam did his co-op experience at Garnet Ford and was hired full time upon graduation. Sam is currently mentoring Andrew Matus, who is a Chichester student and also enrolled in our Automotive Technology program. Andrew is also doing his co-op experience at Garnet Ford. Many thanks to Ira Burgis and Garnet Ford for being a positive influence on our students. Thank you to Garnet Valley Living - Best Version Media for highlighting our students.
