Fall Welcome
Move-In Day will occur on Saturday, August 21st. Details about move-in are available on the Residential Life website. Bear Beginnings: Fall Welcome will begin the evening of Move-In Day and conclude the evening of Saturday, August 28th. During Fall Welcome, you will meet with your WUSA small group, engage in academic experiences, and participate in a long-standing university tradition: Convocation. You can preview the Fall Welcome schedule on the new students website.

Parent & Family Orientation
We hope your family will be able to join us for Parent & Family Orientation. If they have not yet done so, please ask your family members to RSVP ASAP so we can anticipate their arrival.

On the day you move in, please send one representative from your family to check in for Parent & Family Orientation. Check-in will occur on Friday, August 20th and Saturday, August 21st from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM in the First Year Center located in the lower level of Umrath House on the South 40 (across from the Bear’s Den entrance).

At check-in we will confirm the RSVP, provide each member of your party with a WashU mask, and distribute tickets to receive a parent and family gift at the New Student & Family Welcome on Saturday, August 21st at 7:30 PM. It is important that every family checks in so we know how many people are on campus.

For families who are unable to join us for Parent & Family Orientation, we will livestream and record the sessions. Livestream links will be available on the Parents & Families website.

We are excited to welcome you to campus in just a few short days. Please make sure to take a look at the move-in day website, as well as the suggested packing list. Additionally, due to the recent COVID-19 guidelines announced by the university, we encourage you to bring a thermometer and masks with you to campus.
COVID-19 Protocols

All WashU students must follow certain COVID-19 protocols once you arrive on campus.

  • Complete your daily screening before leaving your residence hall each day.
  • Wear a mask in any indoor spaces, except when eating or drinking or when an individual is inside a private office or room.
  • On Saturday, August 21st and Sunday, August 22nd, due to the large number of visitors on campus, all students must wear a mask when they are outdoors. Past that point, students can return to following university guidelines with regards to outdoor masking.
