April Recap
April Meeting: In a pandemic world, virtual elections were successfully held and we are delighted to offer congratulations to our newly elected Heritage Group Board for the 2021-2023 term.

A resounding thank-you to Anna Gay, Nominating Committee Chair, for her definitive role in this process. Officer installation will occur in May. In the meanwhile, thank-you to our outgoing Board for carrying us through the pandemic in style! Truly, there was never a dull moment at our virtual meetings and we are grateful to our Board for their initiative, determination and creativity!

Our April meeting also featured a substantive presentation from Bayou Bend The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston docent Sandra Timte on Victorian life on the Texas frontier as seen through the recollections of Ann Raney Coleman who immigrated to Texas in the 1830's. We enjoyed the presentation so much that plans are in the works for a post-pandemic return visit to Bayou Bend!
April Event: As the expression goes – April showers bring May flowers. It was a few April showers that graced 16 members of the Heritage Group as we toured the Houston Botanic Garden on Wednesday. We communed with nature and each other, while engaging all of our senses in a serene oasis.

After the tour, we enjoyed a sack lunch and many, many good conversations.
