Dear Community Friends,

My name is Tanya Rosen-Jones. I am working on a Community Mural that will be installed on the back of the Oberlin Bookstore this summer. We have 4 mural designs inspired by input from the Oberlin High School seniors. I want to have as many people from our community weigh in on their favorite design. Would you please consider taking a survey with the 4 mural design choices? I will be sending this survey later in April.

I would also like to invite you to a Community Paint Day (probably in June). Anyone who wants to participate can help “paint by numbers” on the lower sections of the wall. I will be on hand to make sure this is done safely in terms of covid precautions.

You can learn more about the project here:

Thank you for your time.

Let's meet (virtually)!

I'm happy to announce our first meetup of 2021! Since I am not yet fully vaccinated* myself, I am planning for 2 online events in the month of April. Let's try to make up for a whole year of missed opportunities to meet new people. The first will be a general meetup, just like we were meeting in a coffee shop to chat, except we are all connecting over Zoom.  Please register via Zoom in advance for this free event. Hope to see you there! - Josie Gruber, MA TESOL

The second event will have an English as a Second Language (ESL) spin. (It'll be an opportunity for people who are learning English to practice speaking.)

Yom Hashoah - Holocaust Remembrance Day

For the past several years, Agudath B’nai Israel Synagogue in Lorain has presented a Holocaust Memorial program. This year the event was held virtually by way of a compilation video.

Please take time to view the video (about an hour and 15 minutes) as we stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters in remembrance and resistance to such atrocities.
