Hello Long Beach State!
March is in full swing, and as the semester hits its stride, Long Beach State University (LBSU) is buzzing with activity! From Women’s History Month celebrations to the ASI Elections season and the challenges of midterms, it’s undoubtedly a busy time for our vibrant community. And amidst the hustle and bustle, ASI remains unwavering in its commitment to prioritize student leadership, empowerment and discovery.
In the spirit of elevating student leadership, I am thrilled to commemorate Women’s History Month by actively participating in the Educational and Career Trajectory of Women in Health and Human Services Women’s Panel March 14 at 3 p.m. in the USU Beach Auditorium. This event is not only a celebration of the vital contributions of women throughout history but also an opportunity to showcase the leadership journeys of women on our very own campus!
The act of voting is a pivotal chapter in your civic journey. When you empower yourself through voting, your voice transforms into an active force, shaping the community around you. That's why your engagement in the 2024-25 ASI Elections is crucial, you'll select your next student leaders from March 18 to March 20! Student leaders are the backbone of campus progress, and by casting your ballot, you guarantee that every student's voice resonates and finds representation.
In ASI’s continued commitment to support students’ academic journey, I am excited to share that ASI Student Government has funded $10,000 towards the purchase of TAP Cards for one month’s free transportation from Long Beach (LB) Transit. We have partnered with Basic Needs, and through the ASI x Basic Needs TAP Card Interest Form, LBSU students can apply. This initiative will help many that are in significant need of relief from the financial burden of transportation costs to ensure their student success.
In the midst of the semester buzz, rest assured that you are not alone. ASI stands as your dedicated partner, committed to amplifying your voice, providing resources and championing your interests. This season is not just a time of growth; it's a unique opportunity for student leaders like you to actively contribute and make lasting impacts on our campus.
Go Beach!
