IHS Band celebrates continued victories this season

The Inderkum Tigers have much to celebrate this holiday season! Over the Thanksgiving Break, the Tiger Marching Band and Color Guard clinched a variety of awards, including 1st place in their division and Sweepstakes in Overall Showmanship. All of this took place at the Fairfield Tournament of Champions for the NCBA Finals where they also were awarded 2nd overall for the whole day, and Color Guard Sweepstakes for Best Parade Color Guard. “I am extremely proud of our students. It’s not about the trophies but about the experience. They get to experience being a family and part of a team that excels at a high level,” says, Band Conductor Shawn Hines. “That’s how it was for me in high school - memories that I will always cherish.” To read the full article, click here.

Thanksgiving comes early for families in need at Joey's Food Locker

With generous support from the Student Services and Support department, social workers, Natomas High School staff, Board Members and other NUSD staff, Joey's Food Locker provided Thanksgiving meals to over 3,200 Natomas families, which included over 850 turkeys.

Over October and November, Joey's Food Locker collected monetary donations and non-perishable food to give back to families who live in Natomas. In addition to turkey, the food locker collected groceries ranging from stuffing, gravy, canned corn, green beans and instant mashed potatoes.

Thanks to the support of our community, every family who participated in the turkey drive at Joey's Food Locker received a turkey along with generous portions of stuffing, vegetables and gravy to complete their Thanksgiving meal.
