Lower School Report Cards Available in FACTS Tomorrow

Tomorrow, December 1st, please find your child(ren)’s report card(s) in your FACTS Family Portal at 6:30 PM. As you read your child(ren)’s report card(s), please keep in mind that each trimester includes new topics of study within subject areas. Report cards also offer an opportunity to set goals for the next trimester, as well as discuss areas of strength and improvement. We look forward to a fabulous end of the 2023 year, filled with Christmas Programs and continued social, emotional, physical, and academic growth that is so important! Please note, if you wish to print your child(ren)'s report card(s), they will be available online for three weeks.

Re-Enrollment Begins on December 15th

SJPDS is looking forward to an excellent 2024-2025 academic school year! Be on the lookout for re-enrollment packets, which will be available in your FACTS Family Portal on December 15th. Please review the items below in preparation for the re-enrollment process. We are anticipating waitlists again this year and encourage families to guarantee their child(ren)’s desired placement and submit their enrollment packet(s) in a timely manner. Please let families, friends, and neighbors know that applications for all NEW students are currently available. Mark Your Calendars for the Book Fair!

In-Person from December 11th - December 15th!

SJPDS is excited for our Winter Scholastic Book Fair! The Book Fair will be on-campus from Monday, December 11 to Friday, December 15th, and students will be able to shop during specific times throughout the week. You and your child(ren) can preview some of the options that will be available at the fair HERE! The Book Fair will have something for all of our SJPDS age groups, including books, educational games, posters, and more! Before the Book Fair, we encourage parents to set up an e-Wallet so children can shop in-person without cash. To set up you child(ren)'s e-Wallet, please visit our Book Fair Homepage.

SJPDS Christmas Card Contest

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

The annual SJPDS Christmas Card Contest is here! This contest gives students the opportunity to draw and/or color a picture about Christmas at St. John's or depict what Christmas means to them. There will be three winners: 1 winner from our EC students (3's, 4's & TK), 1 winner from K-2nd Grade, and 1 winner from 3rd-5th Grade. The winner's art will appear on the Christmas card that we send to our entire community. Students received a paper copy of the contest entry form this week, and included below is a printable form, should they need another copy. All entries are due to the office by the morning of Thursday, December 7th. No late entries will be accepted. We can't wait to see their thoughtful and creative creations!

SJPDS Toy Drive to Support Collington Square

For over 35 years, SJPDS has partnered with our Church to provide Christmas cheer to families from Collington Square in Baltimore. Each year, as a school, we provide unwrapped new toys/gifts for these families in need. Each class will be assigned a family or two to provide toys for during this Holiday Season. Tomorrow you will receive an email with the specifics about the Toy Drive, including dates, instructions, and ideas of items to purchase. Thank you so much for supporting our outreach initiatives! Thank You for Donating to the Canned Food Drive!

Last week, our wonderful Student Council concluded their annual Canned Food Drive, benefitting the Howard County Food Bank. The Food Bank was thrilled with our incredible donation and were so grateful to our generous and supportive community. In just under 2 weeks, SJPDS was able to donate over 500 pounds of non-perishable food items! Go Bears!

Please join us in the Main Lobby tomorrow, December 1st, for First Friday Festivities! It's hard to believe, but this will be the last First Friday of 2023! Please join us in the Main Lobby from 8:15 AM - 9:30 AM for breakfast treats, coffee, and socializing with staff and fellow SJPDS parents. We hope to see you there for some Friday morning fun!

New Spirit Wear!

The Parents’ Association is running a made-to-order Spirit Wear campaign through December 16th. The Spirit Wear design can be ordered through Bonfire. You will have the option to ship directly to your home or group ship, which will be delivered after Christmas Break. Parent's Day Out!

Saturday, Dec 6, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Join St. John's Episcopal Church for a parent's afternoon out! Parents can drop their children off and enjoy lunch out, shopping, or whatever they choose, while St. John's Episcopal Church J2A students and staff watch the kids! Children will play games, do crafts, watch a movie, and have pizza! Space is limited to 50 children, so sign up today! Each student is $25, with discounts for siblings.
