Missy's Message

Greetings,
I hope this newsletter finds you well.  What a wonderful time we had at the Gala.  It was so nice to finally be together after missing the Gala for the last two years.  Our moms were blessed by all the love and support they felt at the event and they blessed us in return with songs and the sharing of their testimony.  And, even with all the chaos, stress, and negativity going on in the world around us right now, we were able to raise more money at this Gala than any previous.  THANK YOU!

All of the funds raised, in any way at Bethesda House, go directly towards the care and growth of our moms and babies. We receive no government support.  Our funding is strictly raised through fundraising (like the Gala) and through donations by local churches and individuals within the community.  Sharing the love of Jesus with each mom and baby that enters Bethesda House has, and always will be, the foundation of our home.  And, for your part in making that possible, thank you so much!

For His Glory,
Missy

Seeking Retail Space To Better Meet Our Needs
The Boutique continues to do business at the Kingston Collection but we’d really like to find an affordable location with more traffic.  Do you know of any commercial property (at least 3000 sq feet) in the Kingston, Plymouth, Pembroke area where someone might be willing to rent to a nonprofit for a discounted rate?  E-mail Missy with ideas! mp@bethesdahousema.org!
Can You Help Us Expand Our Education Plan Options for the Moms at BH?
We’ve added EEC Lead Teacher as an option for our moms at BH to pursue in their education plan.  The primary requirement is working for 9 months as an Assistant Teacher at a daycare center.  We are looking for a local center to partner with.  This would mean employing our moms as Assistant Teachers – with a work schedule of Monday through Thursday as well as a slot for her child in the center with a voucher.  If you know of a local center that is willing to partner with us, please have them contact Missy  at mp@bethesdahousema.org.  We currently have 2-3 moms ready to get started.

Also, if you have other on the job training opportunities that may be beneficial for BH moms please contact Missy mp@bethesdahousema.org.
BETHESDA HOUSE SPRING GALA
The 2022 Spring Gala & Silent Auction proved to be the most successful Bethesda House fundraiser to date! We are blown away by the incredible support and generosity that was poured into Bethesda House on April 9th. The funds raised will allow us not only to continue to meet the costs of running the home but will also allow us to explore the option of providing transitional housing to BH graduates. Your support affords us the ability to provide a customized plan for each mother in our home— offering education, a job track, access to benefits, life skills, and the love and support that is so crucial to new mothers. God bless you for serving as His hands in our mission!
Support of the business community made this night possible!
A great big thank you goes to our platinum sponsor:
— Edward Jones: Offices of John & Debbie Flanagan
Thank you to silver level sponsors:
— Bluestone Bank
— The Lobster Trap
Thank you to the bronze level sponsors:
— Bellew Tile and Marble, Inc.
— Cornerstone Landscape Supplies
— The Johnson Family
— North River Church
Interested in Hosting a Baby Bottle Drive?
Individuals, churches, and businesses who are looking to raise funds to supplement the daily needs of running Bethesda House can become part of our Baby Bottle Ministry. Funds raised through this ministry help us purchase diapers, cleaning supplies, school supplies and other miscellaneous items that help make Bethesda House a home.

Large baby bottles can be displayed with informational materials at your place of business or church. Members are encouraged to donate their change, bills or checks. In addition, small baby bottles can be distributed to members to take home for their own fundraising efforts and returned by the collection date (usually about 4-6 weeks). On average, one small baby bottle can generate about $35! Multiply that by the number of participants and that really adds up! If you are interested in hosting a Baby Bottle Drive, please e-mail babybottles@bethesdahousema.org.
MESSAGES OF GIVING
Many of the donations that are made to Bethesda House come with kind notes or are made in tribute of a special person.
Here are some of the most recent tributes and messages:
-- A donation has been made by Bob and Linda Quinlan in the name of Barbara.

-- Donation from Suzanne Raps in memory of her husband, Bob Raps.

-- "Dear Bethesda Sisters and Brothers in Christ, enclosed please find a gift to be use however the LORD leads. My mom recently went home to be with the LORD in October of last year. We were able to sell their house to a little family who has one son and needed space for additional children they are praying for and believing God will bless accordingly. I asked the LORD what to do with my tithe on my inheritance portion from the sale of the home. He put it on my heart to send as a donation to a ministry very close to my heart. God Bless, Kelli"

Request to All Volunteers-- Attend a VIRTUAL Refresher
At Bethesda House, policies and procedures are constantly changing. In order for us to best support the moms and babies, it is imperative that active volunteers remain on the same page.

We are offering refresher sessions virtually for those volunteers trained more than one year ago. You will be informed via email when you are due for a refresher training and will be asked to select from the following options:

1: Register for one of the next two VIRTUAL refreshers:
-- Mon. July 25th 7:00 - 8:00pm
-- Mon. October 3rd 10:00 - 11:00am

2: Let us know that you are no longer interested/able to volunteer at Bethesda House. Please email mp@bethesdahousema.org to let us know that we should remove you from our volunteer alert lists. We understand that life is busy and that interests change but we hope that you will continue to support Bethesda House in other ways.
