What's New in The ZONE at NECC?

Letter From The Director

Greetings,

Stories surround us. It’s our responsibility to disrupt barriers that pull capacity from families, leaving them consumed with just getting through today. Housing is one of the most impactful puzzle pieces our community can solve for. It’s personal in Northeast Spokane, because we hear the stories of students struggling to get to school, families faced with moving away from community to find housing that fits their family size, and all those who are opening their hearts and resources to those households needing a place to be. Please see this 20 minute presentation to Rotary 21, with 10 minutes of Q&A covering additional factors and community action to support housing stability.

If you have a friend or family member experiencing academic and/or social emotional challenges because of their housing situation, please connect them to me: JRay@NECommunityCenter.com Their voice will help us design solutions for our neighborhoods that match our resident goals and needs.

Have Your Voice Heard

If you are located in Northeast Spokane, our Housing Survey closes Tuesday 3/19 at midnight. This is for renters and owners, and explores appetite for housing density in our neighborhoods through ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units) as well as anonymously assesses average household size by unit size. Thank you for amplifying the needs of our community through sharing this survey.  Results will be given to the City of Spokane and the Northeast Public Development Authority.
