Events
Have a dirty car? Tired of your wheels not shining? Come to the WoodsWork Car Wash, Saturday July 17, anytime from 9AM-2PM. All of the participants for this year's trip will be out in the parking lot scrubbing your cars and giving you a good laugh. If you would like to support a specific youth, please come with a prepared envelop with their name on the outside, otherwise all donations go to the overall trip fund. This mission trip doesn't happen without you all! We couldn't have 36 years of WoodsWork without the congregation of Woods Church and the amazing team of advisors leading the way.
Sunday's game will be at Cypress #1 at 2PM. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!

No excuses... we all need the exercise. Participants must be at least 16 years old.

The Warmth of Other Suns is the story of how and why millions of Black Americans left the South between 1915 and 1970 to escape the brutality of the Jim Crow Laws and find safety, better pay, and more freedom in what is known today as The Great Migration. Register Here.
We are so excited to be worshipping in person again at Woods Church! We are looking for volunteers to help greet this summer before the 9:30AM service and welcome everyone back. This is such a great way to engage new visitors and say hello to good friends again! If you would like to be a part of this opportunity, all you have to do is arrive 20 minutes early, stand at the church’s front doors at the top of the steps, wear your mask, and greet people. Families are welcome to greet together as well!

Interested? Email Rachel Lunde to sign up for your desired Sunday.

Woods Call to ACTion! Join Woods and several ACT Partners on July 31, 11am - 12 pm to support residents of Woodside Gardens at they form a new Resident Council.

In June 2019, ACT (with a number of Woods members participating) publicly stood with residents as they described the poor conditions of their homes and demanded that the property’s management company and owners address their concerns. Since then, some of the issues they identified (e.g., mold, problems with rent verification and dispute resolution, lack of places for children to play, etc.) have been addressed. Continued progress was slowed by the pandemic but residents are now ready to form a Resident Council that will step up the pace and work directly with owners to hold them accountable for making Woodside Gardens Apartments a safe, healthy, and good place to live.

This 1-hour event is an important way for Woods members to demonstrate their support for safe and affordable housing in our community. Woodside Gardens is located at 702 Newtowne Dr., Annapolis. Anyone who would like to meet at Woods and drive there together should contact Linda Eggbeer at lindaeggbeer@gmail.com.
Did you know that Holy Grounds was constructed as a church in 1927 when Severna Park was known as Boone and was located opposite Boone Railroad Station? As a nod to this rich history, the Holy Grounds building has now been renamed “Boone Station Hall”.

This charming building is used by the community for everything from weddings, concerts and theater performances to yoga classes, birthday parties, baby showers, reunions and memorial services. The Holy Grounds name is continuing its legacy in the Woods “Holy Grounds Amphitheater” – another space used by both the church and community for meaningful gatherings!
Have a bumper crop of tomatoes? Access to fresh, healthy food remains a daily struggle for many working poor and homeless families.

Every Sunday this summer, please consider donating fresh produce (from garden or purchased) to the church lobby (across from the Welcome Desk). We will be taking the donations to The Lighthouse Homeless Rehabilitation Center, serving over 150 people homeless and working poor a day.

We will ONLY be accepting donations on Sunday. Thanks for understanding!
