From your Proud Principal
Clarence Pollock
We continue to feel sad, frustrated and angry at how people are still treated in our country because of the color of their skin. The horrific scenes and reports from the Buffalo New
York Grocery Store are just one more event that needs to stop. We must all think about where Payton Gendron went to school, and what if he had the experiences that our school district and school are trying so hard to prepare, model and teach our young learners that all people deserve love, kindness and respect!

At Tuesday Night's Elder Wisdom Children's Song event, the families and friends in attendance felt an abundance of love, hope and appreciation for the elders who all shared their life stories through our Fourth Grade Scholars' messages and songs. Our Elders, Mrs. Modette Broz, Mr. Don Copeland and Mrs. Lorna Smith are all beautiful and amazing people of color that have strong relationships with our students. There was hope alive during this event and action steps start with all of us especially our young people.

A BIG THANK YOU to the following people:

  • Mr. Joe Thomas - Collaborator & Director

Important Bus Transportation Changes
for 2022- 2023 School Year
Transportation Changes for 2022-23 School Year

As a part of districtwide budget reductions, St. Louis Park Public Schools will be making several changes to student transportation for the 2022-23 school year. Transportation is a vital part of the day for many of our students and families. Reductions in transportation and other non-classroom areas will allow the district to reduce the impact of reductions on classrooms and programs. The transportation changes will result in budget savings of $325,000.

In the coming days, the district will begin to communicate with families who are impacted by these transportation changes. A summary of the changes is included below:

  • Expanded no bus zones for students residing in St. Louis Park, including the establishment of a no bus zone for Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School.
  • Condensed bus stops for secondary students.
  • Expanded no bus zones for students who open enroll from Minneapolis.
  • New elementary school boundaries for Minneapolis students.
  • High school students and families will be asked to opt-in for transportation.
