Cain Park Residents Day is TOMORROW,
Saturday, May 28, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Cain Park will hold Residents Day 2022 on Saturday, May 28, from 9:00 am-5:00 pm!

City residents have a chance to purchase priority seating for Cain Park's 2022 summer concert and theatre season.

Limited quantities of priority seating are available and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition, residents will receive 15% off tickets purchased for the opening weekend performances of SCHOOL OF ROCK and SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM.

REMINDER
Cleveland Heights' Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 30, 2022, 10:00 am
Cleveland Heights will hold its Annual Memorial Day Ceremony to remember and honor U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the armed forces on Monday, May 30, 2022, at 10:00 am, at the Cleveland Heights Veterans Memorial in Cumberland Park, 3034 Mayfield Road.

All veterans in attendance will be recognized and invited to come forward to share their military experience.

Cuyahoga County Council Vice President Cheryl Stephens and State Senator Sandra Williams will join Mayor Kahlil Seren for the ceremony.
June 9th is Democracy Day in Cleveland Heights

The hearing will “examine the impact on our City, our state, and our nation of political influence by corporate entities and big money in connection with the most recent election.”

Members of the public in attendance shall be afforded the opportunity to speak on these matters for up to five minutes per person. The hearing will be recorded, and the video and minutes from the hearing will be posted on the City of Cleveland Heights’ website following the event.
  • Only human beings, not corporations, are legal persons with Constitutional rights; and,

  • Money is not equivalent to speech, and therefore, regulating political contributions and spending does not equate to limiting political speech."
GRAND OPENING!
Made Cleveland on Coventry Road

On Wednesday, June 1, 2002, Made Cleveland will hold a ribbon-cutting at 9:00 am for the opening of its new permanent home at 1807 Coventry Road.

Made Cleveland is owned by Ash O’Connor and started as an online marketplace in 2020 to showcase a variety of products from local, independent makers and artists. Since then, Made Cleveland has hosted two holiday pop-up shops on Coventry before making the decision to establish a permanent brick and mortar presence.

Made Cleveland is a tenant of the City of Cleveland Heights, which owns the Coventry parking garage that contains Made Cleveland's store. Cleveland Heights City Council authorized Mayor Seren to enter into a lease with Made Cleveland earlier this year.

"Meet Your Chief" Community Meeting
Meet Cleveland Heights' new Chief of Police Christopher Britton at a "Meet Your Chief" Community Meeting that will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 6:30 pm at the Cleveland Heights Community Center, 1 Monticello Boulevard.

Chief Britton will talk about his background, his approach to policing, and his plans for making Cleveland Heights an even safer place to live, work and visit. He also will answer questions from the public.

Cuyahoga County's E-Scooter Program
INPUT NEEDED
Cuyahoga County’s E-scooter program has led to scooters appearing on Cleveland Heights streets and may help provide local and regional mobility options.

The City of Cleveland Heights is weighing these opportunities and would like your input on how this program may be improved for all residents.

Register for Heights United Summer Camps
Before Time Runs Out!
Summer is almost upon us! Register your child now for a Heights United Summer Camp before it's too late!
 
Heights United Camps are for campers ages 6-12, 9:00 am–3:00 pm every weekday from June 6–August 9. Camps are held at the Cleveland Heights Community Center, 1 Monticello Boulevard.

This year, campers may choose between the traditional Heights United Soccer Academy and the new Heights United Day Camp.

The new Day Camp includes: 
  • Swimming at Cumberland Park (with lifeguards)
  • Ice skating in the Community Center 
  • Access to Forest Hills and Cumberland parks and playgrounds
  • Access to the Field House and activity rooms inside the Community Center

Soccer Academy will have training in the morning and tournaments in the afternoon. Soccer Academy campers will also have the opportunity to participate in Day Camp activities.

Heights United has provided engaging summer camps in Cleveland Heights for 28 years. Both the Soccer Academy and Day Camp will be directed by Cleveland Heights High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame teacher and coach, Sean Sullivan.

Heights United can only accommodate 60 campers per week and some weeks may sell out. They recommend signing up as soon as possible to ensure availability. Heights United can also provide before- and after-care.

NEW!! Kemetic Yoga 101
During this six-week class, students will study the fundamentals of Kemetic Yoga, a system of yoga combining physical movement, deep-breathing techniques, and meditation.
 
The instructor will concentrate on proper posture for Asana (poses) and Pranayama (breathing exercises) and focuses on Yin Yoga, a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise. It is suitable for beginners and is a soothing practice for anyone.

Barre class combines elements of dance with the Pilates principles of strength and safety. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a spill-proof water bottle and exercise mat with you.

Pilates is a series of targeted exercises that strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility generated from the core.

Kuk Sool Won™ (WKSA)
Kuk Sool Won is the traditional Martial Art of Korea. All classes include age-appropriate instruction in Etiquette (Respectful Behavior); Rolling & Acrobatics; Safety Falls; Meditation Practice; Hand/Foot Striking and Blocking; Forms Training (Hyung); and Self Defense Techniques. Fifteen classes each session.

REMINDER
Summer Basketball RETURNS!

The Basketball Development Camp will be held over two weeks, June 6-10 and June 13-17. The program is designed for students grades 3 through 8. The camp will give each camper the opportunity to learn and develop their basketball skills within their age group. Online registration is now available.
The Summer Youth Basketball League tips-off June 20 and continues through July 28. Boys and girls grades K-8 may register online. Registration spots are limited at each grade level and determined by the child's grade level for the 2021-2022 academic year.
REMINDER
Stay Cool at the Cumberland Pool

Pool passes for this summer are available for purchase Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Community Center, One Monticello Blvd.

Registration for our water aerobics program is also available in-person and online.
