Beach Replenishment Project Completed!!!

The City is excited to announce the long-awaited sand replenishment project is now complete! The project was a huge success with 700,000 cubic yards of new sand placed along almost the entirety of the City’s coastline. The project finished ahead of schedule and the City would like to thank the U.S. Army Corps  of Engineers and Manson Construction for the impressive work and beautiful new, wide beaches for everyone to enjoy.

It should also be noted that this project includes the re-nourishment of the beaches every 10 years! We are very excited to have the increased recreational opportunities as well as the protection of the bluffs and increased public safety as a result of this project. The contractor is now moving operations to Encinitas to perform renourishment there, however you will continue to see some minor activity and storage of equipment at our beaches for approximately the next two weeks.
