TBS Special Announcement:
What is a Father of Choice?
A “father of choice” is a father who intentionally chooses to be a teacher, understanding, patient, calm, firm but gentle, fun, silly, and most of all, a father who is a constant for his children 24/7/365.

Joshua (Josh) Tobosa is a devoted husband and a “father of choice” for his three daughters. When Josh is not enforcing the nation’s laws at sea, protecting the marine environment, guarding our country’s vast coastline and ports, and performing vital life saving missions, he is a down to earth dad who loves spending time with his family and being a great dad to his daughters.

TBS is honored to spotlight Josh for Father's Day and recognize him as a role model for all fathers. TBS appreciate's his lovely wife, Ashley, for submitting a heartfelt article to share and providing her definition of a "father of choice."
Article from Ashley Tobosa:

A “father of choice” is an accurate description of my husband, Josh. So, what does it mean to be a father of choice? First, to define choice: An act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities. When given this option from that, how does one decide? Answer: It’s a matter of preference, one’s character, and, for most, a faith in God’s perfect plan. This is at least true for Josh.

Certainly, his greatest attribute is his love for Christ. This is recognized through his acts, his commitment and graciousness to his family and friends, and his dedication to and reputation in his career.

When Josh chose to father two children that were not biologically his own, it was more than a commitment. It was an act of faith. He’s always desired to have a family of his own, and I thank the Lord that I was part of that plan, as I too for so long desired and prayed to have a complete family.

I am thankful and proud of having a husband that constantly chooses his family, devotes his time to developing and teaching of God’s love to our three girls, and is always willing to cook our favorite local-kine-grinds!
“Choose to be the father your children need and be that father you always wanted.” -T.Tomsan
