IVMA Vice President Nomination Announced
The IVMA Nomination Committee has nominated  Dr. Ken May of Slater for the position of Vice President of the IVMA. Dr. May is the owner of the Ballard Veterinary Clinics. There are currently no other nominees. Learn more about Dr. May in the upcoming June IVMA Update.
 
Ballots will be distributed by email or hard copy in early June. If you do not receive correspondence from the IVMA, please contact the IVMA office at 800-369-9564 or via email at ivma@iowavma.org . Ballots are due back to the IVMA office by June 20.

Vote in IVMA Elections
Ballots will be sent out next week for IVMA Elections. Most ballots will be sent via email, but for those members who do not have email, they will arrive by mail. 

Along with voting for the IVMA Vice President, members who live in even numbered Districts will also have candidates for IVMA Executive Board members on their ballots.  

Two IVMA members are running unopposed for IVMA Executive Board positions for the first time. Dr. Preston Ayers of Cedar Rapids is running to fill the open position in District 12 and Dr. Kate Hoffmann of Atlantic is running for the open position in District 16. 

Dr. Lisa Thilges of Grimes and Dr. Meredith Johns of Colfax, along with incumbent Dr. Ashley Williams, are running for two positions in District 14. 

Ballots for both the Executive Board and the IVMA Vice President position will be due back to the IVMA office by  June 20

Join the IVMA's Power of Ten Leadership Class!

A new class of POTL is beginning this fall and we want YOU to be part of it! POTL is a leadership opportunity for veterinarians who have been out of school seven years or less.  

POTL participants will attend a series of leadership development sessions from the fall of 2022 until spring 2023. The IVMA will provide topic experts and meeting expenses at no charge for participants. Some CE credits may be available.

Nominate for IVMA Awards
It's that time of year to consider nominating a deserving colleague for one of three annual   IVMA Awards.  It is the IVMA's honor and pleasure to recognize members of our association who have made significant contributions to the veterinary profession, their clinic and their patients.

We encourage you to take a moment and ask, "Who has made a difference?" and let us know about that extraordinary person.

The following awards will be given out at the IVMA Annual Meeting in September:
Veterinarian of the Year Award
Rising Star Award
Healthcare Team Member Service Award

Serve on AVMA's CVTEA Committee
Volunteers are invited to serve on AVMA's Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA). One position representing clinical veterinary medicine, (large animal veterinarian) is open to fulfill an unexpired term 2022-2025.

The CVTEA is a group of 20 delegated the authority and responsibility for accreditation of veterinary technology programs in the United States.

The position on CVTEA is selected by the CVTEA Selection Committee.
