Josh Hanna Graduated from Irish Boat Shop's Two-Year Apprenticeship Program
Josh Hanna of Charlevoix graduated from Irish Boat Shop's two-year Apprenticeship Program this spring. Josh joined the shop in the spring of 2019 when Irish first launched the program. The IBS Apprenticeship Program grew out of the need to cultivate new talent in the marine industry as many of our seasoned technicians retire over the next several years.
Apprenticeship programs benefit employers and employees, creating a partnership beyond a paycheck for a good day's work. Employees get a skill-based education in an industry that is new to them while being paid and receiving the benefits of a full-time employee. Employers gain an effective tool for recruiting, building, and retaining a highly skilled workforce.

Meet Us Again...For The First Time!
Why the new name and a new look? Promotion is what we do, in all sizes and shapes, and we all know that capturing the attention of clients can be a challenge. Direct and to the point is the way to go, and it is time. On the lighter side, The Farley Calendar and Promo Products Company is truly a mouthful to say.
What has changed, you may ask? Absolutely NOTHING! Same Owners, Same Management, Same Great Customer Service! Promotional calendars have been, and always will be, the foundation of our success. They will continue to be the backbone of our company and the glue that holds together many successful partnerships. As we began to expand our promotional offerings, it became apparent that being more to the point with our company name, and how it shaped our image moving forward, was crucial. The speed at which social media and brand marketing continues to evolve and grow, put even more importance on keeping pace with the times...even better, moving ahead of it. Northern Michigan Food Drive Underway
The Covid-19 crisis continues to hit Northern Michigan families hard and the need at area food banks is great. So MacDonald Garber Broadcasting stations are coming together once again to help. The week of June 7th is the 2nd annual Feeding Northern Michigan Week on 106KHQ, Lite 96.3, 104.5 BOB FM and 96.7 The Bull.
This year, we are excited to welcome Joel Jacob and The Bottle Crew as our partner. Food insecurity is an issue close to Joel’s heart and he is very generously offering to match all listener donations up to $25,000. This incredible match donation will go directly to feed families in Northern Michigan.
Each radio station will be focusing on hunger for the entire week and will encourage listeners to join them in donating too. Donations will be made on each station’s website and will go to restock the food pantries at The Manna Food Project, Father Fred Foundation and Feeding America West Michigan. Many local businesses are also joining the fight against hunger and are partnering with their favorite radio station to drive donations. This is a total community effort.
Click HERE to donate. For more information, Diane Shannon Hansell is available at 231-347-8713 or at Diane@lite96.com.

Bigs Honored with 2020 Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Quality Award
The agency is recognized for outstanding team leadership in providing 1-to-1 mentoring programming for local youth.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan (Bigs) is proud to be recognized for the sixth year in a row as a 2020 Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) Quality Award Winner. Every year, the BBBSA Nationwide Leadership Council, made up of local Big Brothers Big Sisters agency leaders and board members, select agencies for excellence in the 1-to-1 mentoring program, which ignites the power and promise of youth. Despite the challenges of the past year, including the pandemic, social unrest, and economic uncertainty, 49 out of the 236 Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country received top honors in quality.
“Receiving this award is a great testament to the hard work being accomplished by our board and staff who have made quality programming a priority for our local children,” said Cecilia Chesney, Executive Director of Bigs. “Their dedication equates to more mentorship in Northwestern Michigan and a brighter future for area youth.”
