WHY SHOULD YOU TALK, SING, & POINT WITH YOUR LITTLE ONE?
Each day, your child is learning that sounds have meaning. Every time you talk, sing, or point to what you are talking about, you're providing important information to their brains about how language works!
HERE ARE A FEW WAYS YOU CAN DO THAT...
FOR INFANTS:
-
Talk a Lot: Talk to your baby from the time they are born during activities like changing, feeding, bathing, and errands.
-
Follow Their Interest: Talk about the things your baby looks at or reaches for.
-
Sing: Sing songs to your baby. This is a fun way for them to learn a language!
FOR TODDLERS:
-
Be Specific: The more specific you are with words, the more they will learn.
-
Ask Questions: Get your toddler thinking. Have them explain what they are doing or what they think will happen.
-
Use Any Language: It doesn’t matter what language you speak with your infant. All languages are equally beneficial!
