Grow Memories at Home
Do you have a young person graduating this year? With all the traditional large ceremonies for kindergarten, Grade 8, high school, college and university being cancelled, why not hold your own small celebration in the garden? Preparing your garden to hold a small event with family and close friends to celebrate a milestone is easier than you think.

A few carefully placed planters or baskets, a backdrop of greenery, flowering shrubs, fence or fields is all you need for photos. Small backyard weddings are becoming more popular too and of course with a little planning you can grow all your own cut flowers. Why not consider using plants to help grow memories at home!

  • Welcome back inside our greenhouses - we are open for in person shopping
  • Open daily, 9am to 5pm. No appointment necessary

The Hummingbirds have Arrived!
One of the small joys of working in the greenhouses are the daily Hummingbird experiences! We are often buzzed by these lovely birds as they visit to feed on our flowers. One of their favourites is Nepeta or Catmint but we see them on a range of flowers including Geraniums, Astilbes, Petunias and Salvias.

Here's a short clip of one on some Nepeta (credit to Keely) and tips how to attract them to your garden.
Custom Containers are Ready
If you are one of our custom container clients, please come by to pick up your pots. All containers are looking full and beautiful! No appointment is necessary and you are welcome to browse and shop for other plants while you are here.
Plant listings and how to make a purchase
Our plants are posted on our website home page and divided into categories. Use these pages as a tool to plan your purchases from home. Bring your list with you when you come to shop. Plan to be flexible with your choices. Since we grow our own plants, once we sell out of an item, it will not be restocked. If we don't have what you would like, we will be happy to find a suitable alternative.

Please review the important Operating Procedures. They are in place to protect you and our employees.
Our Tomatoes
Great selection to suit all appetites!

Our tomato collection is the result of over 25 years of research and growing experiences - we work hard to grow a wide range of both hybrid and heritage (or heirloom) varieties. Hybrid varieties often have a stronger resistance to some diseases, but the unique shapes, colours and flavours of heritage varieties add interest and variety to a garden and the kitchen.

Heritage varieties are older than 50 years and are no longer grown commercially, but in garden conditions they thrive. All varieties of tomatoes are easy to grow in full sun, both in the ground or containers. By combining a mix of hybrid and heritage varieties, your garden will be filled with a lovely selection to suit all styles of eating including sandwiches, salads, sauces and more.
Dianthus Paint the Town
A garden 'Must Have'

Dianthus or Pinks have been cultivated in gardens for hundreds of years and plant breeders are continually working to improve varieties. If you have grown Dianthus before and found that they cannot take the heat, or only flower for a short period, please take some time to check out the Paint the Town series of Dianthus.

We grow both Fuchsia and Magenta and both are amazing garden performers. Prized for their bright flower colour and increased heat tolerance, these varieties form low mounds of bluish foliage which are completely covered in blooms early summer and again in early fall. Plant at the front of a garden and watch them thrive in heat and sun!
Drying Flowers and Herbs
Tips to Get Started

The Flower Farm was originally founded in 1993 as a fresh and dried cut flower operation. We grew thousands of plants in our front field and invited customers to pick their own as well as selling ready cut fresh and dried bouquets. Over the years, our priorities changed as our family and businesses grew, but we still grow plants for you to plant and grow your own cutting and drying garden at home.

Here are a few tips to get you started drying your own flowers:
Canadian Shield Rose
Bright red flowers all summer!

This Canadian bred rose was developed for both its strength and beauty. As its name suggests, Canadian Shield is a hardy plant, being winter hardy to zone 3 and able to thrive in the diverse conditions found across the country. Plants are upright and bushy with glossy green foliage. Magnificent, scarlet red flowers grow in clusters and are large, fully double and mildly fragrant. Being a repeat bloomer, this rose will stay stunning throughout the entire garden season.

Canadian Shield is disease resistant and low maintenance and will not succumb to black spot or powdery mildew. Plan on this rose growing 3 to 4 feet in this area. As with other roses, do not prune in the fall – instead wait until spring and prune back to live buds. We really hope that you can find a home for this special truly Canadian rose in your garden!
Thank you for your continued support during these strange times. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Let's live in the hope of a garden!
