PES Special Edition:
Welcome Back!
January 5, 2021
Puster Families,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a very restful, healthy break. This year, my little family of three stayed home and RESTED and it was wonderful.

The past two days, our staff participated in a wonderful two days of professional development and extended planning. These days are some of the most valued among our staff as they offer an opportunity to collaborate, add to our ongoing growth in instructional practices, and put those practices to use in our upcoming lesson plans.

All of that said, we are ready for KIDS tomorrow! We welcome those returning to campus from the virtual environment and all of our new to Puster families! Currently, we have 430 students attending Puster. 83% of our students are attending in person for Q3 and 17% are attending virtually.

Families, YOU have done a fantastic job following our health safety protocols throughout the first semester. While we have many procedures in place to ensure the health of our staff and students on campus, we continue to rely on your diligence at home as well. Please continue to prescreen your child for symptoms and do not send him/her to school if they are symptomatic. Please continue to be diligent about notifying the campus if your family/child is considered a close contact so we can work with you to coordinate a healthy return to campus for your child.

During the first semester, Puster had 5 total positive COVID cases. Three of those cases were already in quarantine and did not require contact tracing on campus. As a reminder, I will notify the community when we have had a positive case on campus via email. If your child is considered a close contact, you will be personally contacted with a phone call. You will not be notified if a staff member or student is placed on quarantine due to being considered close contact.

I’ve included a few links which you may find helpful in getting back into the school groove. As always, please reach out as you have questions and needs arise. We are here for you!

Puster Proud,
Holly

School Dismissal Manager Fast Facts
Here are a few Fast Facts that you will need to know for getting started:
1.  Please use this website to log in to SDM at www.schooldismissalmanager.com. The initial login is best completed from a computer as opposed to your phone.
2.   The Parent Login area is found at the top right of the SDM homepage.
3.   When you log in for the first time, you will be required to change your password immediately.
4.   Please refer to the Parent Guide for Creating Exceptions for details on how to use the system.
5.   As you begin to use School Dismissal Manager, if you have questions, please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) link found in the Parent login area at the top of the SDM homepage. Here, you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions. If your question remains unanswered after checking here, please contact the school office and we will be happy to assist you further.
6.   When you start to receive the email notifications of changes or cancellations that are made for your child, please keep in mind that hitting Reply or Reply All on those emails does not reply to the school. If you need to respond to a notification (i.e., to inform the school it is incorrect, provide additional details, etc.) please call the school directly and talk with someone in the office.
7.   Each school day, School Dismissal Manager will send a comprehensive dismissal report to the school immediately following the cut-off time, allowing administrators and staff to facilitate a smooth dismissal.

Thank you for using this tool to help us keep the dismissal process safe and orderly for all our students.
