Martin Luther King Jr Day City Offices Closed Jan 17 2022
City offices closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 17
City of Cleburne offices will be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday on Jan. 17.

Sanitation routes will run on their normal schedule. The Transfer Station will be closed.

The Cleburne Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, and closed on Jan. 17. The Booker T. Washington Recreation Center will be closed MLK Day. The Layland Museum of History will be closed Saturday, Jan. 15. Cleburne Golf Links will have regular tee times and hours.
Zoning Ordinance Update Open House for residents Jan. 18, 20
Cleburne residents are invited to two open house events to learn more about the proposed Zoning Ordinance Update.

Future meetings will be held for non-residential/overlay properties in February.

These events will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Jan. 18 and 20 at the Cleburne Conference Center, 1501 W. Henderson St. Residents can come and go at their convenience.

City Council recognizes Marty Peters contribution to community
The Cleburne City Council proclaimed Jan. 11, 2022 as Marty Peters Recognition and Appreciation Day!

The proclamation expresses our heartfelt appreciation for her sincere service to the citizens and City of Cleburne by honoring our military veterans and reminding us to never forget their service and sacrifice that continue to support the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.

Staff to conduct winter cemetery grave cleanup next week
Staff will conduct its regular grave cleanup at the cemeteries the week of Jan. 17.

The cleanup removes items left behind on graves to meet city ordinance. Staff will dispose of any materials left on graves. Those interested can remove their decorations ahead of staff’s work.
The cemetery does allow for additional decorations during the holidays but they must be removed within 10 days. This cleanup targets removal of decorations that are in violation of the 10-day policy.
