Introducing Scouting with Heart, a mid-week Heart of Virginia publication that focuses on the faces of local Scouting. We hope you'll join us in celebrating our youth and volunteers by learning more about their service to our community and accomplishments in our program.

Spotlight on BSA Troop 2866

Scouts with BSA Troop 2886 of our Arrohattoc District performed the opening flag ceremony at our Creepy Forest event at Albright Scout Reservation on October 30th. They joined 15 families with Pack 2835 at our final week of creepy camping. Thank you for fulfilling your duty to country and providing a great ceremony to kick off this fun event. View their flag ceremony on the BSA Troop 2886 Facebook page.

Spotlight on Pack 521 Tigers

Cub Scouts with Pack 521 in our Battlefield District performed a service project benefitting their chartering organization, Cool Spring Baptist Church. Tiger Den 5 worked on their Team Tiger adventure loop by sealing four picnic tables used by the church. Thank you for making sure these tables stay in great shape! Learn more about how Pack 521 gives back to the community on their Facebook page.

The Value of Scouting

"I love volunteering in local scouting because I love working with children and seeing them learn skills along with teaching other scouts."
