Join Us for Worship This Sunday!

Sunday, March 10 at 10 a.m.

James Stewart, Director of Music

Warren Baker, Worship Associate

“Expressions of Awe and Wonder”

Have you ever been speechless? Have you ever gazed into the night sky, peered across a vast ocean or stood agape atop a mountain and found yourself overwhelmed by the beauty that surrounds and envelopes you? This Sunday, we’ll be sharing in a special service as artists of multiple disciplines within our congregation come together in an attempt to bring words, sound and light to the ineffable. There will be pictures, crafts, music and poetry. Come and participate, lend your voice, your eyes and your ears. You are a part of what makes this world so wondrous and awesome.

Join us for worship in person in the Sanctuary, or online. The livestream link and order of service will be shared at bit.ly/FUUSBWorship, or visit our YouTube channel.

While at the Meeting House, anyone is welcome to wear a mask. In the spirit of caring for each other, please stay home if you have any cold or flu symptoms. Thank you.

Children & Youth This Sunday!

Rowan Van Ness, Director of Youth & Emerging Adult Ministries

Sunday, March 10

Children will start out in the sanctuary with their families before they break into their exploration groups. 6th-8th graders will explore the March theme of Transformation, Undercover Kindness Agents (2nd-5th grade) will train for their next mission (2nd-5th grades), and Spirit Play (PreK-2nd) will wonder about the week's story and continue to explore the themes through free play. Nursery care is also available, starting at 9:45 a.m.

Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. this Sunday, March 10. Remember to set your clocks forward one hour on Saturday night!

Christina Fulton, Director of Operations & Finance

On Sunday we celebrated Stewardship by dancing our pledge cards to the front of the Sanctuary while our "House Band" performed "We Are Family!" So far we have collected just over half of the number of pledges we received last year, and we still need to collect $96,000 in pledges to meet our goal. Every single pledge matters! If you haven't made your pledge for the 2024/2025 fiscal year, you can do it right now by using this direct link to a pledge card: Make a Pledge! If pledging online isn't for you, you can email your pledge directly to Christina at [email protected].  Beginning the week of March 11, Board Members will be calling members who have not yet given us their pledge. If you want to make the Board's job lighter, please send in your pledge this week.

Cleaning the Building

Christina Fulton, Director of Operations & Finance

You may notice a friendly face doing some new work. George is no longer with the FUUSB, and we wish him all the best. We have posted the Custodian position on Indeed and will begin doing some phone interviews asap. In the meantime, Darrell, one of our current Caretakers, will be helping us out by doing the Custodian job duties.

As always, we truly appreciate all groups cleaning up after themselves; this is a huge help. Also, please do not leave any food items or food scraps in your meeting spaces. This is an old building and "church mice" are always around this time of year. If your event has had food, please make sure to dispose of compost in the appropriate bins and close the lid tightly. If there is any food in the garbage can, please tie closed the bag and bring it down to the area right outside the first-floor kitchen, so that it can be taken out to the dumpster. And never leave any leftover food on a countertop, because that is especially tempting to our little friends.

Our Society Is a Fragrance-Free Zone

Sarah Forbes

In consideration of those who are sensitive to the chemicals in fragrances, our Society has been declared a fragrance-free zone. Please refrain from wearing perfumes or cologne, using fragrant flowers, smelly hand sanitizers and air fresheners. The chemicals in these items can affect anyone at any time, causing incapacitating and even disabling illness.

Who can be affected by these chemicals?

People with: Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), migraines, Asthma, pregnant women and developing children, COPD or other breathing disorders, Emphysema, allergies, sinus headaches, Autoimmune Disorders (MS, Lupus and others), ADHD, Autism, respiratory infections or frequent colds, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and formerly healthy people who've been exposed to too many chemicals. Even You!

Thank you for caring for your fellow UU's!
