Students in Mr. Knight's blended class work collaboratively in breakout rooms.

Puster Families,

Today is North Texas Giving Day! Please see the "Where Does My Donation Go?" graphic below to learn exactly where your donations go and who benefits from your generosity. We thank you for your support of Puster and Lovejoy!

We are so excited to continue our Puster Pride tradition beginning tomorrow morning. We hope you will join us for this virtual assembly beginning at 8:15 a.m. Your child's teacher will send out the link to the webinar via Seesaw or Google Classroom today.

It has been another fantastic week of learning! I made it into almost every classroom this week and I am so impressed by both our Puster students and our teachers in the level of instruction being delivered and learning achieved whether on campus, virtually, or blended. It brings LOVE and JOY to my heart!

Puster Proud,
Holly

Learning with Your Librarian
Hello Parents!

We have had a truly great week here at PES! This week we started our library lessons and they have been going so very well. It was a real joy to be able to get into classrooms and not only share lessons with the kids but to be able to get books into their hands. This week we read a fun story about starting school and the importance of considering other's perspective. If your student is interested, there are some extension activities relating to our story this week that are posted in the library Seesaw. I will continue to post these activities for all of our lessons moving forward.

For our next pick up day, students have the option to put a hold on a book via our Destiny Catalog system as well as request a librarian-selected book based on their interests. For books to be available for pick up they need to be requested prior to the Friday pick up day. Anything requested on or after the pick-up day will be prepared for the following week. Due to the fact that Mrs. Peabody and I will be in classrooms for most of the day, we have started placing the books in the front office on Friday mornings you can pick your books up there as well as return past books.

If you had requested a book via the form this week or last week, and you want an additional book next week, you will need to either resubmit the form or email me to let me know that you would like another book.

For more detailed information on how to complete these requests and to make sure there is a book available for you to pick up please review the following document.

Happy Reading,

For the next two weeks in SEL we will be discussing with students their personal skills and interests they want to develop. We will also talk about using a growth mindset during this process. If you have any questions regarding SEL, please reach out to me.

School Dismissal Manager Fast Facts
Here are a few Fast Facts that you will need to know for getting started:
1.  Please use this website to log in to SDM at www.schooldismissalmanager.com. The initial login is best completed from a computer as opposed to your phone.
2.   The Parent Login area is found at the top right of the SDM homepage.
3.   When you log in for the first time, you will be required to change your password immediately.
4.   Please refer to the Parent Guide for Creating Exceptions for details on how to use the system.
5.   As you begin to use School Dismissal Manager, if you have questions, please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) link found in the Parent login area at the top of the SDM homepage. Here, you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions. If your question remains unanswered after checking here, please contact the school office and we will be happy to assist you further.
6.   When you start to receive the email notifications of changes or cancellations that are made for your child, please keep in mind that hitting Reply or Reply All on those emails does not reply to the school. If you need to respond to a notification (i.e., to inform the school it is incorrect, provide additional details, etc.) please call the school directly and talk with someone in the office.
7.   Each school day, School Dismissal Manager will send a comprehensive dismissal report to the school immediately following the cut-off time, allowing administrators and staff to facilitate a smooth dismissal.

Thank you for using this tool to help us keep the dismissal process safe and orderly for all our students.

District News
Foundation for Lovejoy Schools
We’re excited to kick off our Annual Appeal campaign!  Our goal is to raise $250,000 and have 40% community involvement. The students of Lovejoy ISD are touched by Foundation dollars in every school and grade throughout the district. Now, more than ever, they need our support to ensure no interruption to the Lovejoy standard of exceptional learning.

New this year, three giving options! Teacher Grant Fund, One Heart. One Lovejoy. Fund, or a 50/50 split. Visit our website today to learn more and donate!
Kids First Registration
Kids 1st registration is now open.

Due to limited staffing and the management of social distancing on each campus, we will be limiting the number of students accepted into the after school program. We will start off accepting 25 students on each campus and at this time will only be accepting full time tuition.

We will continue to monitor the situation and guidance from the CDC and HHSC and if we are able to add additional staff and students while still maintaining social distancing practices, I will send out a communication to let parents know.
