Lakeland District Staff will be in and out of the offices through the months of July and August, enjoying their summer holidays! Please direct all of your inquiries through email, as we will be checking periodically and will respond to any emergencies.
We hope to be back on the road in September and LOOK FORWARD to visiting your community!

LDSCR says farewell to
Julia Frigault
Julia Frigault started with Lakeland District during the COVID-19 pandemic and has been a strong asset to the team! Julia was fortunate enough to meet and develop relationships with many of the Recreation Practitioners within the district.
Julia will be missed! Her last day in the office is July 16, 2021.

Do you have a compelling story of cultural resilience to share?
Stories submitted at www.culturalresilience.ca will be listed and amplified for at least one year (from August 2021 to August 2022). Some stories will be investigated further, profiled online, and featured in subsequent training programs, all of which will help create a community of learning.
Thanks go out to the funders who have made this important work possible: Department of Canadian Heritage and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO.

The Lifesaving Society - Saskatchewan Branch are working to prevent drowning and other water-related injuries across our province.

The ability of recreation, parks and community sport leaders to renew, retool, engage and contribute to community recovery depends on many things, including our willingness to work together. Sharing stories, ideas and innovations can help identify promising practices that can contribute to a collective return to sustainable operations.
That's why ReImagine RREC, a national project to support recreation, parks and community sport, is inviting recreation, parks and community sport leaders everywhere to share their stories.

Heritage Saskatchewan's Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan Heritage Awards
After a hiatus in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Heritage Saskatchewan is looking forward to celebrating once again!
Submissions are now open in four categories: Community Development, Public Outreach, Physical Heritage Conservation, and Intangible Cultural Heritage (Deadline August 27th). They will be adapting their program to suit a virtual format via Zoom to take place in November 2021. Also new this year, they will be featuring projects in short videos produced by HalterMedia so winners can celebrate and promote their projects.
NCCP & CAC Multi-sport Training Modules
Training modules cover topics relevant to all sports (nutrition, for example) and help you become a more effective coach. They also provide training for coaches working towards Trained status within their NCCP coaching pathways. Completing any module counts toward your Maintenance of Certification.
