Lincoln Park Pickleball & Tennis Survey We want your feedback on the proposed project outlined in the PROS Master Plan regarding the pickleball and tennis courts at Lincoln Park. Take this short survey and join us on August 10th at 5:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Park Barn for a community meeting. This meeting will cover the results from this survey and will be an additional opportunity to collect feedback from the community. Click Here to Take the Survey

Artificial Flowers at the Cemetery The city cemeteries ask that no plastic flowers, arrangements or wreaths be placed in city cemeteries between April 15th and November 1st, except for 10 days before and after Memorial Day. On April 15th of each year and 10 days after Memorial Day, crews remove all plastic flowers, arrangements, and wreaths from grave sites. Natural flowers and floral arrangements may be placed or used throughout the year.

Mobile Lincoln Park Arboretum Tour You can now view the Lincoln Park Arboretum from your phone! View an online interactive map and learn about tree species from your mobile device. Users now have the option to read or watch a video on each tree. The map directs you to each tree as you walk through the park. Click Here to View the Map

Westlake Park Renovation This spring, the parks division began renovation at West Lake Park. The goals of this renovation are to improve the turf quality, add trees for additional shade, and renovate the disc golf course to have better playability. 46 trees and approximately 4.5 acres of new grass was planted. This project was funded by a Community Development Block Grant for $26,000 and will serve to increase the experience at West Lake Park for many years to come.

Increase in Tree Requests The forestry division has seen an increase in tree work requests compared to last year. Since May 13th, there have been 148 new work requests compared to 67 requests at the same time last year. These requests are mostly for tree pruning, but also for insect control. The forestry division has seen an uptick in tree insects this season compared to previous years, which is causing increased damage to the City’s green infrastructure.

Get to know Tina Ross! Recreation Coordinator - 17 Years of Service. What is your favorite part about your job? Being involved with making positive changes in the community through our programming. I love being in the thick of things, so I can see first hand the impact our department has on it participants. What is your favorite place in Grand Junction? Where ever my family is! We do a lot together, so it is hard to specify one location. Definitely outside. Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing? Cooking, crafting, skiing, hiking, traveling, and riding my spin bike.
