SAINT MARK'S MISSION & OUTREACH
Coming Soon: Homemade Communion Bread & Sacramental Wine
Bread Wine Eucharist
Beginning in Advent we will once again be using homemade bread for the Eucharistic Feast. A huge thank you to our new Eucharistic Bread baking team. Yes, both wafers and a gluten free option will still be available.

Soon we will be offering Sacramental wine at a communion but in a rather different manner due to safety concerns. We will ask each household to bring their own cup, chalice or small glass to receive wine at a station in the back of the nave. Yes, we’ll have cups available if you forget or are new to the parish. More details are in the attached letter. Importantly we’ll need help from a Eucharistic wine team to pull this off. So please let us know if you can help. christopher@stmarksabq.org or stmarks@stmarksabq.org.

Sunday: Guest Preacher
Neil Elliott is an Episcopal priest and biblical scholar, and the author of several books about the apostle Paul. He and Mary Ellen moved from Minnesota in 2019 after her retirement as an ELL specialist in the public schools there. They have attended St. Mark’s since All Saints’ Day of that year.
Growing as Good Stewards
Growing as Good Stewards - Reflecting on our Personal Relationships with Family & Friends

Stewardship is not just about our money and finances. Stewardship is about the faithful use of EVERY gift with which God has entrusted us. Each month we invite friends and members of St. Mark's to engage in prayer, reflection, and conversation about what it means to grow as good stewards of one particular aspect of our WHOLE lives. As Thanksgiving approaches, we invite you to reflect on Stewardship of Personal Relationships with Family and FriendsYou might use these questions to guide your personal reflection. Join us for further prayer, reflection, and discussion on this topic the on Tuesday, 11/30 at 12PM (and the last Tuesday of EACH month) either in person or online.
Vestry and Annual Meeting
Three vestry positions open up each January at St. Mark's, as well as one delegate position. At our annual Parish Meeting (Sunday, Jan. 30), we will be saying a sincere "Thank You!" to Tom Blueher, Jeff Devereaux and Kate Spielmann. All have ably served St. Mark's in these leadership positions.

Please prayerfully consider whether your time and talent could be best used in the guiding, collaborative spirit of our vestry or as our representative to the Diocese of the Rio Grande at Convention. Nomination forms are available here, or in the church office upon request. Please return the form, with an electronic photo, to the office by January 14th.

Also, all ministry Annual Report information needs to be submitted to Jennifer Lind via email by Friday, January 14th.

Help Wanted: Christmas Pageant Filming & Advent Extravaganza
Saturday, November 27th, 9AM-2PM

St. Mark's is inviting our friends and members, (young and old) to participate in creating a (pre-recorded) Christmas Pageant again this year! We will be filming St. Mark's 2021 Christmas Pageant during our "Advent Extravaganza" at St. Mark's on Saturday, November 27th from 9AM-2PM.

When you're not busy filming a scene, you're invited to pitch in to help bundle greens for Advent Wreaths, help the Youth Group paint an LGBTQ+ Welcoming Rainbow fence, and do whatever else is needed to prepare for Advent...all while enjoying good snacks and good friends!

Please mark your calendars and invite family and friends to join you (in person AND online) for St. Mark's 2021 Pageant Party & World Premiere, the evening Sunday, December 19th!

We need lots of help to make this happen! We'll need help supervising snacks & hospitality; playground; greens bundling; fence painting and costuming! We'll need help recording music, readings, and narration! We'll need help staging and shooting some photos and short scenes! And, OF COURSE, we'll need people of all ages who are willing to put on a costume and bring the Nativity Story to LIFE! (Since we are recording narration separately, there will be no need for any of our pageant players to learn or memorize lines!)

Please sign up here ASAP to let us know your availability and interest in helping out with this year's Advent Extravaganza and Christmas Pageant Filming Party a success!

Sunday, November 14, 11:30AM-1PM
(Facilitator: Donnel Miller-Mutia, Hospital Chaplain & former Hospice Grief Support)

As the seasons change and trees lose their leaves, as the autumn days darken and the winter holidays approach, our personal and communal experiences of grief, loss, and change often rise to the surface. As we encounter life's major transitions and thresholds, let us gather for an hour and a half and mark our journey of healing through stories, art, poems, prayer and songs. Contact Donnel with questions and to RSVP (via email here).
