I met Destiny at our January job fair
and now know it was ādestinedā that we speak.
She told me she had experience in the restaurant industry and was looking for a better-paying role. She presented herself well, was hopeful, and gave me her number so I could follow up on her story.
I called her this week, and she was the same enthusiastic and friendly person I met a month ago. She was excited to tell me she left the
CFEC job fair with 5 offers and had just come home
from her first day at her new job!
She was thrilled to tell me that her new position was a management job with benefits and a higher salary than she was used to!
But thereās moreā¦
She went on to tell me that she first heard about the job fair at our Christmas Blessing event. One of our community partners, E.S.T.H.E.R.S. Outreach, registered her for our Christmas program since she is a single mom of twins. At that event, she talked to Christian HELP staff and learned about the job fair that led to her new employment.
So, in the end, she ended up with toys in December for her children,
an employment opportunity in January,
and the start of her new job in February.
