9/11 Remembrance at Liberty Park


Liberty Park on Lake Street, the site of the City's permanent memorial to the people and events of September 11, 2001, will host the City's Remembrance Ceremony starting at 9 am on Sunday, September 11th. All are invited. Click here to learn more about Liberty Park's amenities.

JAZZFEST White Plains is back with a stellar lineup of in-person programs. For its 11th year, the festival remains true to its roots, presenting jazz from an outstanding roster that features local and national renowned musicians. From September 14th thru 18th White Plains will be filled with the music of some of today’s hottest jazz stars.

A partnership between ArtsWestchester, the City of White Plains and the White Plains BID, JAZZFEST has become a signature White Plains event presenting free and affordable jazz experiences to jazz enthusiasts from Westchester and beyond.

The 2022-23 Guide has been mailed to all White Plains homes and registration is now open for Recreation and Parks and Youth Bureau Fall and Winter programming.


The guide also contains information on upcoming special events, community partner programming and all city parks and facilities.

For the past 50 years, the Youth Bureau Youth Employment Service (YES) has been providing teens in White Plains with the opportunity to develop essential employment skills. 


This summer YES secured private sector and city jobs for 167 youth. Job opportunities are also available throughout the year.

Ground Breaking for the Juliette at

250 Mamaroneck

Southern Land Company (SLC) along with officials from the City of White Plains and the YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester broke ground on the Juliette this summer. The Juliette is a new 177 unit luxury apartment home community in White Plains, located at 250 Mamaroneck Avenue, former site of the YMCA.

This project will provide needed housing in the downtown and add to the vitality of the area by supporting small businesses, restaurants, and retail,” said White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach.

Serious Fun Arts Fest

The Serious Fun Arts Fest is a celebration of public art involving more than 200 artists. The five-day event, sponsored by ArtsWestchester, will enliven downtown White Plains from October 12-16 with activities ranging from concerts to live mural painting, a public art walking tour, and dancing in the streets.


There will also be performance art, massive public art unveilings by renowned artists, fun family artmaking, and more throughout downtown. Click here for the complete schedule of events.

Volunteer Opportunity

The Sustainable White Plains Committee Needs Volunteers to help fight invasive plants.

On Saturday, September 17th volunteers will be removing invasive plants from the Rec & Parks building

and returning on October 1st to plant native plants.
