Toccara Robertson, LPN
Former ITC Parent joins the Southside Behavioral Health Team as the
Compliance Trainer Coordinator
As a former parent of the Early Intervention Program, I would like to say how grateful I was to have this program available to my child. As a mother, you always want what is best for your children and any issues that you notice with their health and wellbeing you want it to be addressed and corrected as soon as possible.

Conducting Successful Feeding Therapy over Tele-Intervention
Linda Floyd, CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
Linda Floyd is a Speech and Language Pathologist, with Children’s Therapy Concepts, LLC., who has worked at Southside longer than any current Provider. Linda retired 3 years ago; we even gave her a party and thought we had sent Linda into a life of traveling. However, Linda came out of retirement to help a special little girl with severe feeding issues who we have always referred to as “Little Miss H”. Even through Telehealth, Linda and Little Miss H had a special bond with the help of “Marty”, Linda’s baby doll.
During the height of Covid, Linda worked with another kiddo with feeding issues, not knowing the impact it would make for him, his parents and ITC of Southside. As little baby Morgan gained weight, Linda supported his parents through his feeding sessions, Dr. Dessie, Morgan’s Pediatrician, took notice. They opted for feeding services in their home community verses going back and forth to the Feeding Clinic in Richmond. A phone call to me by his nurse led into a 30 minute conversation about early intervention and the other services offered by Southside ITC. It became evident through Linda’s work with Morgan, Dr. Dessie was convinced EI worked. And in just a few days, 5 referrals appeared and then a few more and a few more and a few more throughout the height of Covid!
We are very thankful each day Linda came out of retirement! Dee

Meet Missy Rose and Her Pack of Survivors
Missy has been practicing Pediatric Physical Therapy in the Tidewater area for 31 years. She has been with Select Kids since 2005. Missy will be a panelist for the next Talks on Tuesday where she will join other EI providers in sharing experiences with coaching during tele-intervention.
Missy’s passion is working in the Early Intervention setting with babies from birth to 3 years old.
At home, Missy and her family have 3 dogs: Sampson, a toy rat terrier who is15 years old, Izzy, a 5 year old lab mix they rescued from a kill shelter in Tennessee and their newest family member Vinny. Vinny is a mix of lab, German Shepard and other stuff, lol. Missy and her family rescued him last January after he was found homeless from the big earthquake in Puerto Rico. The family had wanted to get another pup but Izzy was very picky and whenever introduced to another dog she was not having it. They ended up visiting a neighbor's house who was fostering Vinny, just to socialize, and Izzy fell in love with him! Vinny came for a sleep over and never left!
Vinny is now an Emotional Support Animal for Missy’s daughter. He goes off to college but comes home to the family over the summer and whenever her daughter is home from school. Izzy really loves Vinny, Sammy...well not so much but he is an old man and he doesn't really even like people anymore. LOL.
"Thanks for sharing my fur babies! I love them like I love all the babies I work with, they're part of my family!" Missy
