City offices closed for Thanksgiving
City of Cleburne offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Nov. 28-29.

Sanitation will not run its Thursday route, instead crews will collect the route on Friday, Nov. 29. Transfer Station will be closed on Nov. 28-29.

The Public Library and Animal Shelter will be closed from Nov. 28-30. The Library reopens on Monday, Dec. 2, and the shelter reopens on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Cleburne Golf Links will be closed on Nov. 28.

Booker T. Washington Recreation Center will be closed on Thanksgiving but open on Nov. 29 from 1-6 p.m.

New dome at Splash Station allows for lap swim all year round
The new insulated dome at Splash Station allows for lap swim year round. The park is open for swim from 6-9 a.m. and 4-8 p.m.Monday through Friday.

In addition to regular guests, the dome allows Cleburne ISD swim team members to practice year-round.

Crochet classes at BTW Recreation Center begin Dec. 3
Can't think of a gift for family and friends? Why not make them something?

Cleburne Parks and Recreation will host a regular crochet class at Booker T. Washington Recreation Center on the first and third Tuesday of every month beginning Dec. 3.

This class is open to all ages and skill levels to learn how to crochet. The class is free but participants must be BTW members.

Whistle Stop Hulen Park lighting ceremony set for Dec. 25
Join the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce and community members as Cleburne rings in the holidays with the lighting ceremony at Hulen Park on the Monday, Nov. 25, at 6:30 p.m. There will be live Christmas carols from the Texas Tradition Chorus followed by the lighting of the park at 7 p.m. with gift and food vendors, children train rides, a meet-and-greet with Elsa and Anna presented by Plaza Jr., and a surprise visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Maker Lab returns to the Public Library on Thanksgiving week
The Cleburne Public Library will host its family-favorite Maker Lab this upcoming Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

The lab allows participants to play with several sets, toys, and activities that encourage science, engineering, math, art, and technology learning. The fun is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. on Monday, 1-4 p.m. on Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday.

Two former NFL players speak at Legacy of East Cleburne series
The Booker T. Washington Recreation Center recently hosted the second discussion of The Legacy of East Cleburne series. The talk focused on the importance of athletics and included short talks from two men who grew up in Cleburne, played football in college, and worked their way into the NFL.
