Welcome to our new newsletter.

Hello San Diego Ed Tech Community!

The past two years required all to use technology in our classroom and beyond in a way that was both encouraging and frustrating. The Educational Technology team at the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) spent the past two years putting together programs that could assist teachers, students, and administrators teach fully online, in hybrid classrooms, and in more traditional settings. We know it hasn’t been easy for some of you, and we continue to be here to help you as you navigate this very different teaching experience.

One of our biggest highlights this past year has been going into classroom and co-teaching with teachers in several schools across the county. We have worked on design jams, summer design academies, and many programs that serve San Diego County’s most vulnerable student populations. The team found these experiences vital to grasp changes within the classroom setting and with students during this time. We are taking what we learn from these classrooms to inform our professional development opportunities. Learn more on our website.

SPOTLIGHT

Design Thinking Room
We already welcomed students into our new space at the Linda Vista Innovation Center, located down the road from the main SDCOE campus. In this building, we have created a design thinking room equipped with module furniture and an eGlass system. We will be welcoming teachers who want to explore design thinking and learn how the eGlass system helps educators facilitate hybrid as well as general classroom instruction.
