ADK Cub Hike-O-Ree

Adirondack Foothills District is holding its Cub Hike-O-Ree on October 1st, 2022

at the Herkimer County Community College award-winning Nature Trail, which is behind the stadium on campus.

Time is currently 9-12 with starting times at 15-minute intervals. This is an ADK activity open to all Packs and Cubs from the entire Council.

After time on the trail, Cubs and their families are invited to the HCCC Fall Fest which will run to 4 PM and include music, balloon sculptures, a car show, horse-drawn wagon rides, and many other family activities, all free.

Prospective new members who want to “try on” Cub Scouting will be guests of the ADK District. Cubs may attend as members of a pack, den, or family.

This event is designed to be an outdoor event “in the box” for both new and experienced leaders to bring their Cubs to an outdoor activity without extensive planning. As for new members, this is scheduled just days after local Join Scouting Nights and will be their first Cub Activity for many. There is no pre-registration, just come, sign in, and enjoy.

SCOUTS' TIPS

How to make sure your Youth Protection Training is current, print your certificate

Completing Youth Protection Training, the BSA's three-module course covering the safety and well-being of our youth, isn't merely a good idea. It's a requirement. As a registered BSA volunteer, you must take the full 72-minute Youth Protection Training, hereafter known as YPT, every year.

SAFETY MOMENTS

Certificates of Insurance

Certificates of insurance verify that the BSA and local councils have insurance for an event or activity. In most cases when Scouting and Exploring activities are held at locations other than Scout property, the location requires a certificate of insurance from the BSA. The other parties usually want to be added to the BSA general liability policy as an additional insured.
