Public Stakeholder Meeting, a Time for Community

This month the Plum Creek Watershed Partnership would like to invite everyone in the watershed to attend a Public Stakeholder meeting February 28th, 2024 at the Kyle Public Library starting at 5:00pm. Public Stakeholder meetings have always served as an opportunity for the community to be more involved in implementation of the Plum Creek Watershed Protection Plan. This is also a chance for everyone to come together in working towards a healthier and more informed watershed. Additionally, we will have a special guest presenter from the Hill Country Alliance! They will be presenting on the effectiveness of proper public advocacy and building good relationships with local leadership. There will also be discussion on the state of the watershed and chances for you, the stakeholders, to speak with the Plum Creek Steering Committee. Food and refreshments will be available at the meeting. Please RSVP by going to the link below or by contacting the watershed coordinator, call or email. Reach out today and make some time for your watershed community!

Become a citizen scientist with Texas Stream Team

Our citizen science water quality monitoring group, The Plum Creek Stewards, is seeking volunteers to test sites throughout the Plum Creek Watershed on a monthly basis.

The water quality data is added to a state-wide database: Texas Stream Team Datamap. This is an amazing effort larger than our watershed, so check it out!

To become a certified monitor, a three-hour training is required. After training, the time commitment is about 1 to 2 hours per month. Contact the Watershed Coordinator if you are interested in becoming a Plum Creek Steward. The next free Standard Core Water Quality Citizen Scientist Training is in San Marcos on Sunday March 10th, 10am to 2pm. Follow the link below to learn more about Texas Stream Team.

Also, if you or your group would like to have a Standard Core Water Quality Citizen Scientist Training here in the watershed, please contact the watershed coordinator with your interest!
